Even if he had no one to meet up or wait for, Sync would rather keep his distance from the patient hallways to avoid any unnecessary confrontations. Granted, since he was planning on visiting one of the new areas an encounter was likely inevitable, but he'd like to think no one would bother caring if they had their own schedule to follow.

With that said he quietly moved through the halls, keeping his flashlight low and his gaze straight.

If Peter wasn't already out, Scott figured the best chance to catch him (or anyone else) would be in the most-travelled hall in the Institute. Not knowing where Peter's room was, it was pretty much his only option. And if the boy didn't turn up after a while... Well, maybe he could go kill a monster somewhere to blow off some steam, he thought, a weight forming in his chest as he swallowed dryly, gripping the hilt of Senna's sword.

Unfortunately for Chipp, the door he found lead to... yet another hallway. At this point, Chipp was wondering if someone threw him in some kind of weird ass maze or something, but that didn't deter him. There was a way out, he just had to go through enough doors and find it, right?

But where the hell was everyone? Chipp knew he woke up alone, and to be honest, this place kind of looked like some abandoned warehouse or something. It kinda made sense that anyone who wanted to kidnap him would pick an abandoned place to do it, but there had to be goons or something lying around in wait, right? They didn't even bother to lock the door, so at the very least, having some guards around should have made sense.

"Man, these guys really suck," Chipp grumbled to himself as he felt his way down the hallway. Whatever, he was going to find the guy who did this and kick his ass. Or kick her ass, if it was a girl. Someone's ass was going to get kicked!

Not that getting nowhere wasn't a part of his usual methods. And he really didn't consider it "getting nowhere" as much as "taking his time and enjoying all the options at his disposal." When the future was possibly at stake, it helped to pay attention to everything that was said, making sure he didn't miss key points or anything that could be potentially game-changing.

Now, what was that about Code 1-8?

"On second thought," Kirk was saying as he fell into step beside Wichita, "it's dangerous and you shouldn't be going out there alone. Which I assure you has nothing to do with you being a girl, even an unfairly hot girl, because the last time I went out there alone..." He shrugged, making the beam of his flashlight bob along the floor. "Well, you probably don't want to hear boring stories about me."

Yeah, better that he not tell Wichita about the time he was brainwashed and stupidly wandered into the clutches of a patchwork snake-bird-woman monster. He couldn't see anything heroic about getting your shirt slashed to ribbons and yelling hysterically at your rescuers while bleeding out on the floor.

Which wasn't to say Kirk wasn't shameless enough to grin and try to bait an unfairly hot girl into showing interest in him. Although the gambit might've worked better if his radio had decided then to crackle to life, but not with music this time, or even silence at first. Kirk let his flashlight dangle from his wrist (a ( ... )

At first she just sort of stared at him, through his excuses for coming back and the radio transmission, because... oh. Well. Alright. Sure. Maybe he was only trying to sound more legit by mentioning his crew, and they didn't actually need him. Maybe. Kinda suspicious either way.

Wichita hadn't honestly been expecting Kirk-- Riverside to catch up with her, but it was sort of a blessing because she couldn't seem to get her map out of her boot anyway. Not without sitting down and untying it, and that seemed like entirely too much effort when she now had someone with her that knew the way. Usually she didn't trust anyone so quickly with this sort of thing, not when it was possible that he had an ulterior motive or some angle to play, but it was extremely difficult not letting herself just trust him. He knew the place, knew the random voices on the radio she never bothered to pay attention to, and seemed calmer than a lot of the other 'patients' in this place, so. That was enough, for now. Until she got her hands on a bat, anyway ( ... )

"Monsters," Kirk answered. He walked at a steady pace, a little slower than the usual brisk half-run he favoured while navigating the halls of the Institute, but he wasn't in a rush. Yes, fine, Wichita was very attractive, it had been awhile, and he was enjoying the attention, but his intentions weren't completely unpure. Not completely. He knew from experience how easy it was to get off-guard in the hallways just outside the prisoner dormitories.

But for all that Kirk carefully scanned the darkness ahead before each step, his voice was as casual as ever. "Or just one - in my case, anyway. I know, how uncool, I got taken out by just one massive science-experiment-gone-wrong abomination, but trust me: not as cuddly as it sounds. Although, I don't think we'll see her out there tonight ( ... )
