Okay, he was definitely in the right side because all his flashlight was turning up were women, except for an unlucky pair that looked like they had just collided literally in the middle of the hallway. Niikura slowed his run into a brisk walk and continued on straight past the two. F19...that had to be close; the number was pretty low. Without hesitation, he walked through the nearest open door. Time to take his chances.

"He's reliable, though," Niikura said in an attempt to offer some assurance. "As in, he's not gonna stab me in the back or anything." Which was really saying something, actually. "I think he's a ninja, too...ha ha, nah, he just has some neat moves. Pretty useful since this place, like I said, ain't the kind of place where you can just wander around by yourself."

It was at that point that he decided to change the subject.

"Hey, so, how'd the rest of your day go, huh? Like your roommate?"

Shiina listened patiently to his description, walking alongside Niikura with growing ease despite the off-putting darkness of the place. Were they supposed to be walking around freely like this?

"I'm glad you can trust him." Her words were dead sincere. She knew more than anyone that the Akumetsu had made a lot of enemies. Anyone Shou felt he could trust had to be trustworthy. Shiina knew whoever this Mike guy was, she could likely trust him with her life.

"What, you jealous?" she teased. "Don't got any ninja skills in your own repertoire?" Teasing was easy and familiar territory. Just a little brought her back to a simpler time in their lives, back before the Akumetsu mess even started. It was beginning to dawn on her, though very slowly, that maybe this was the chance for a new beginning that she had always hoped Shou could have.

The hall had been mostly empty, save for one blonde girl that Rapunzel hadn't been able to get a clear look at as she focused on keeping the hair in her arms balanced. The girl had been leaning against the wall, so Rapunzel did hope she was okay. Unfortunately, however, she didn't have a lot of time to hang around and check for certain, not when she had a meeting to keep. What small look she had gotten at the girl's face had seemed to indicate she wasn't in horrible pain, anyway. Here's hoping that's right...

With the short trip out of the way, Rapunzel waited outside the door of the female block, keeping an eye out for any distinctively tall, dark figures approaching.

[From here.]Having reached new territory, Facilier switched on his flashlight, his confidence building a little as the night had shown no disastrous results of "code 1-8" yet. According to his map, Facilier should have been fast approaching the designated meeting spot he and Rapunzel had written about on the bulletin board ( ... )

Rapunzel had been getting a little bit antsy waiting for Facilier, wondering if he had gotten held up by anything. Hopefully nothing dangerous, she thought as she clutched her things closer to her chest. Would she be able to find him if anything had gone wrong? She hadn't even gotten his room number. Agh, how had she been so stupid? Why hadn't she just given the man her room number in the first place? All she had wanted to do was save him part of a trip, and here it was just making things more difficult, maybe. Note to self: share room number more often.Thankfully, the sound of the man's deep voice eventually sounded behind her. Not-so-thankfully, it was in a tone that sent an odd chill down her back. The way he said "dear", it was almost like the way Mother Gothel called her "darling"... But no, she thought. She had to be reading into things too much there. Right ( ... )

Lana walked slowly towards the main halls, keeping an eye out for anyone she knew. Snippets of conversation still drifted in -- I'm not usually like that. People who said that generally were lying, but they also were usually talking about criminal activities, not a case of the sniffles.

Hold it. Code 1-8. Had there been something in the food again? "One Ate"? That was a terrible pun, if true. And it was only a theory; going and trying to rid herself of dinner was unlikely to help if she'd been affected. Was she? She didn't feel different, but she wouldn't, now would she?

She needed to find Ema. Her cautious pace didn't visibly quicken, but she headed straight for the main hall.

As she started toward the main hall, Natalia began to see the beams of other flashlights, passing quick and faint from view, as if ghosts in the night. That was an entertaining, even pleasant train of thought. Until she pursued it too far. If there were ghosts, would they necessarily be of "patients" lost in these halls? A truly grim contemplation. The lights belonged only to devices like the one she held, she reminded herself. If there were ghosts, produced in some way by this place, it would be good- another thing to which to aspire- to help put them to rest.

All things could begin only by putting one foot in front of the other. Natalia walked on, into the main corridor.

Nothing down this hallway either, though Chipp continued to slowly make his way down the hall. As long as there was a wall to protect his back, he wasn't too concerned about running into something during his trek through the unknown, but it was damn creepy. Not because Chipp wasn't used to the dark, but it was the silence that really bugged him. Whenever he was out in the wilderness, at least the stars were out and he could hear the sounds of nature around him, but this sort of silence was heavy, and kind of eerie.

Still, being scared of literally nothing pissed Chipp off and he continued to press onwards. If he strained his eyes enough, he thought that maybe he was coming to the end of this hallway with just a few more steps...
