It was no surprise that this particular hallway was completely empty by now. Peter would have thought it was eerie if he hadn't known the reasoning behind it. Soma was already long gone and she had left only a minute or so before him. It wasn't like it took much time to travel through this part of the building.
Which was why he hoped Max wouldn't be too bothered by his lateness. He didn't want to be seen as unreliable, but he got the feeling that the man would understand once he explained. He hoped so, anyway. Taking in a breath, Peter moved down the hall and out the door.
