He set off, a little man with a toothpick and a flashlight, past his room's hallway and into the adjoining one. To be frank, he hadn't really cared where Castiel was cooped up before. Of course the lack of knowledge was going to bite him in the ass. Big surprise there. While he didn't intend to stand in the hallway all night, leaning

Byrne knew the route to Badd's room almost by heart now, and it didn't take him long to reach the block where the detective's room was located. He moved quickly and quietly with purpose in his stride, letting nothing distract him from his goal. Nothing else mattered right now except for his partner. He felt kind of like a soldier moving like this - isn't that what they were all supposed to be, anyway? Or so these people claimed.
You know what? Aguilar was right about that. They were all soldiers here. But this soldier wasn't fighting for petty rewards or to further some evil madman's plan. No, he was fighting for freedom, justice, and all that was good and pure. The raven of truth, shedding light upon the darkness and destroying the evil that was trapping these people here!
...Byrne repeated that speech in his head, knowing how cheesy it sounded but not caring in the slightest. Hey, cheesy lines were the Yatagarasu's middle name. Or his middle name. Whatever! The Yatagarasu had to sound cool somehow, ( ... )

Michael made it down the hall easily enough, although this was the easy part, wasn't it? Not that he wanted to trust his own deluded memories, but he always recalled this part of the building being calm. He knew that all of it was bound to be that way (monsters weren't real), and while he didn't get what the point of this was -- if it was a breach in security or if the general and his men intended for them to face their fears quite literally -- he was going to find out one way or another ( ... )

Gabriel closed the distance between them, clapping his hands on both of his brother's arms. He might have hit him a bit with the flashlight, of course. Luckily for Castiel, the blade was safely tucked into his coat. "Of course, bro. Someone's gotta babysit you. I knew you weren't going to listen to me since you never do."
And someone would probably blame him for Castiel getting his head bitten off or something. Dean was so good at lecturing him about what it meant to be a brother, even if he didn't know the freaking half of it anymore.
His eyes shot down as he stepped back, putting a distance between them. Which was weird for him, admittedly, but this guy also wasn't his brother. Not right now. He was probably less fun to annoy. An easy smile came to his face as Gabriel leaned back against the bathroom door. "I see you found your blade. Don't you find it a little weird that a mental asylum populated by guards deemed it a good idea to give an unstable guy like you a foot-long knife?"

Even still, he abruptly let go of the man who should be his brother, turning away and twirling the flashlight in his hand. He could act mildly annoyed far easier than he could settle into being uncomfortable. People like Gabriel didn't get uncomfortable. The world just tended to shift just so to make him comfortable ( ... )

The hallway was still quiet by the time he entered. Very few people mingled in the darkness as they softly murmured to each other. Ippo kept close to the wall as he scooted by with as little intrusion as possible.
The brass knuckles felt strange in his hand and made holding a flashlight that much harder, but he ignored it. Ignoring--or more like denying--the alien sensation made it seem like it wasn't real. There was a lot less to face that way.
Squeezing his meaty palms over the hard support of his new weapon, Ippo kept an eye out for the 30s.

As Sora reached the end of his hallway and turned into the next one, it was only natural for his thoughts to turn to what he had planned. He was going out to that forest with his two best friends at this side -- probably on a wild goose chase, he realized, and yet he still felt good about it. Part of that was just being elated that Riku was back and part of it was because they were making their own way.
True, he hadn't found the forest without Venom's help and chances were that they weren't going to be able to find Marc, but they weren't just listening to Landel and heading for the basement and that's what mattered. Maybe they would have to turn to that route eventually, but he approved of trying something else first.
As he reached the door at the end of the hallway, Sora nodded to himself and stepped through.

These walls, the closed off doorways and yawning entrances to hallways were already beginning to seem familiar. The same could be said of the burning scent that seemed omnipresent, especially now that his senses seemed to be regaining a little of their old strength. It bit at his nose, the smell, curled inside his lungs until his throat and nose and lungs all felt as though they'd been scoured in sand.
He was tired of the smell, which appeared to be everywhere, and varied only in intensity.
There was nothing of interest beyond the first door, and so Sesshoumaru continued once again to the hallway.
