The trip back was blessedly short. They had seen enough of the halls at this end of the wing now to follow them easily in the dark. Short or not, though, Utena couldn't stop the faster beating of her heart the closer they got to the room. How could she not be nervous? She was about to jab herself with god knew what.
She held her composure as best she could as they slid the doors of the Infirmary back open.
"Where to next?" Soma asked as they emerged into the main hall once again. There were a few larger rooms here, judging from the doors, which might hold something useful. Things like weapons.
Something roiled again in the back of her mind, unpleasantly, and this time she wasn't sure it was Marie. Some...undefinable emotion. No matter. She glanced again at Utena, faintly questioning.
Utena shrugged, turning her light down the halls in a few different directions. "Maybe just whatever's closest?" she suggested, hefting her box of stuff in hand. That would probably be as good as anywhere else. Whatever wouldn't be a big open area like the hall or the Infirmary would be good, she thought. Utena couldn't quite figure why, but she liked the idea of moving back into a smaller space. It was too drafty in open spaces. A more enclosed place would be warmer, probably. Why that mattered right now, she didn't know, but it did sound vaguely good right now

Utena seemed to be in some discomfort--maybe she'd injured herself opening the door? Soma was about to ask what was wrong, but a wave of anger, as unexplained as it was sudden, washed through her. Let Utena deal with it on her own. It was her fault for being weak. She didn't deserve to--
--no. That was wrong. What was she thinking? Soma pushed the thought away, trying to hide how disturbed she felt as she held the door open for the other girl and stepped through.
