[from here]From here, Vino could go several ways. The frequented Sun Room was the most obvious option, though he could also choose to either go into one of the side doors or continue onward down the hall. If he were an architect, Vino thought, where would he put a radio broadcast room in an insane asylum ( Read more... )

[Back from here.]

"Man, we've had some bad luck lately," Guy said with a sigh once he was sure that his two companions had escaped that strange man safely. First last night when that swordsman had attacked them so fiercely, and now some weird setup where they were expected to dance? What was this all about?

It seemed like they were pulling out all the stops to prevent them from getting to the basement. Maybe Aguilar really didn't want them to see what was hidden there. That only made Guy more eager to make it there, though.

"So, to the courtyard then?" They really couldn't waste any time now that they'd been set back like this. "We might be able to make it faster if we go over the wall in the greenhouse yard." He hadn't used that path very often himself, but it might be worth a shot. The path that wasn't as well known might not be guarded as fiercely.

Anise let out a heavy sigh once the doors closed behind them. It didn't look like that weirdo was chasing after them, thankfully. Seriously, though, what was that!? She'd never seen anything like it before.

It was too bad, in a way. A dance contest actually could have been really fun... if it was anywhere but here. If Anise was going to show off her dancing, it was going to be somewhere safe, and when they weren't in a hurry to get somewhere else. At Landel's, she couldn't trust that it wasn't a trap. Besides, they had to reach that door before they ran out of time! There just wasn't time for playing around.

"Well, at least no one got hurt," she offered, trying to look on the bright side even if she looked a little exasperated herself. "The greenhouse, though? I've never tried that way before. I think it's worth a shot!" Since it was a less-traveled route, maybe there would be less enemies on the way! It'd be nice if there was no one jabbing swords at them this time, at the very least.

While Guy and Anise were mostly a little irritated, Claude found himself pretty annoyed that they'd run into that. Like hell they'd participate in some dance contest because a guy wearing a dress told them so. He bet the man would have asked them to put down their weapons for awhile, too. As if!

"What do they think we are, stupid?" he huffed. "This isn't some game." Maybe it was childish to let it get to him, but Claude didn't like the feeling that their captors were just toying with them for their own enjoyment. People he cared about had died the last time they went to that damn basement. Just what was the military trying to pull, throwing something like that at them right now?

If it had been another time and another place, he might have gone along with it, but...they had too much riding on what they were doing tonight. They couldn't get bogged down by stupid things like that ( ... )
