( Continued from hereJack glanced back bitterly at the doorway. "Hospital", the nurse had said. Well, that was fine and dandy if he were sick, but he felt perfectly healthy. Besides, it's not like he ever had to worry about healing anymore, since he had become the most powerful Fable ( ... )

As Jack spoke the Nurse's smile slowly lowered until the woman gave a sigh. Really now, why must there always be those who refused to accept the fact that they needed to be there? She supposed it really wasn't their fault; if they'd been well then there would be no purpose for a Landel's in the first place.

"I'll tell you again, Mr. Trick. Please take your seat."

Ah, well. It was too much to hope that he would see his things again. As for his current attire, he was sure he could abadon it somewhere and seek out more fitting clothes somewhere down the road. At least he wasn't naked.

Jack put a hand on the nurse's shoulder. "In that case, lady," He said, scooting her to the side, "I'll be leaving now."

When Jack moved her off to the side, the Nurse frowned slightly before she raised her hand to call over someone more 'convincing'.

"Let me escort you to your seat, sir." A low voice responded as a Male Nurse, who was even taller than Jack, took hold of his shoulders and began to forcibly escort him back to the direction where he had came from.

Jack's playful and carefree expressioned darkened. He didn't appreciate the sudden appearence of the male nurse and he CERTAINLY didn't appreciate being strong armed.

"Hey, big guy, take your hands off me or you're going to regret it," He growled, pulling himself away from the man. He had hoped he would be able to simply relocate a couple of female nurses and maybe one scrawny teen candy striper on his way out, but apparently this place had a couple of males in their employ as well. No matter. He could handle a fight or two, if need be. He'd managed worse before.

"Sir, I suggest you calm down if you know what's good for you." Much like the female staff, the Orderly was as experienced when dealing with the more rough and defiant types. It was the same thing every day, with at least one man thinking they're too macho to stay here.

But whatever the case was, it was his job to make sure they followed the rules like the rest of them. So without hesitation, the Orderly took hold of Jack's shoulders again and pushed him forward.

That cinched it. Jack wasn't going to let some male nurse (wasn't nursing a field for women, anyhow?) order him around or force him to do ANYTHING.

"I warned you to back off, buddy!" Jack brought an elbow back into what he presumed was the middle of the Orderly's gut with a decent amount of force behind it. If the guy was still standing after that (and not curled on the ground, choking for air), he would throw a few more punches his way and see how he liked it.

Unfortunately for Jack, the Orderly knew better than that and dodged to the side before the elbow could knock into his gut. And only a split second later did he regain his hold on the man, forcing Jack's arm up from behind him in an attempt to keep him still.

It was then that another woman revealed herself, a swab and a syringe already prepared as she approached from behind them. The Nurse gave an aggravated sigh, quickly swiping at Jack's upper arm before inserting the needle and injecting the sedatives.

Lunch had barely even started and already this was the third patient she had to sedate.

Jack realized he'd been jabbed with a needle too late. He wrestled the grip of the Orderly and even tried to plant a kick on the offending woman with the syringe, but quickly realized his consciousness was not all it had previously been. He felt quite dizzy and very...out of it, for lack of a better word.

"You think you're SO smart," he mumbled, glaring back the best he could through clouded eyes at the Orderly who held him. So much for walking out of here...

The Orderly loosened his grip only after he had made sure the drugs were taking affect, carefully coaxing the man back to where he had originally started: with Haku.

"Mr. Maxwell, please make sure that Mr. Trick doesn't over exert himself while he's like this." The Nurse sighed as she pocketed the syringe for later disposal.

"If you have any problems, feel free to call over a Nurse and we'll escort him elsewhere."

Haku beamed up at the nurses, the very picture of a good boy. "Yes ma'am. I will keep a close eye on him."

He waited until they had left before fixing a look that clearly said "Told you so" on Jack.

Jack shot him an evil look. "Shut up," was all he could come up with. Pushing his plate of food aside, he folded his arms, placing them on the table. He felt VERY strange and weak, not something he liked. Leaning his head down on top of the arms he added, "I'll be sure to take note of this for when I try to leave for real."

If nothing else, he could attempt to save face.

"Oh? That wasn't a real attempt?" Haku brought up a hand and smiled behind it. "It sure looked like you were trying, what with the fight you put up."

He looked around again and sighed, pushing over the glass of water he'd taken for himself. "Drink something, you'll feel better."

Jack didn't feel like drinking anything. He just wanted to sleep, honestly, but common sense told him this wasn't the time or the place for that. He begrudgingly took the glass and put it to his lips.

"If I had really been trying," he insisted between sips, "They wouldn't have been able to walk away from the beating I would have given them. This was just to test..." Why couldn't he think of the word? Whatever was now in his system was interferring with his ability to spin stories. He had to say SOMETHING, lest the girl realize he was lying. "...stuff and things."

Wait. Damn it. That wasn't a complete sentence. "When it comes to this sort of escape scenario, I mean," He elaborated.

Haku's expression clearly said he did not belelive Jack in the slightest. He nodded. "Right. 'Stuff and things' pertaining to this sort of scenario."

He shook his head. "Look, you've been drugged. Why not try to save the self ego-inflating stuff for another time?"

Ego inflating, Jack's ass. This girl really just did no recognize his greatness. Granted, Fable code expressly forbid Jack from enducating any Mundy who might be so naive as not to notice how much better he was than all of them in their dull, mundane existences. Didn't mean he couldn't bring up his alias in Hollywood (afterall, the staff here atleast recognized him as John Trick. There was no reason for THIS Mundy not to know that name) and remind her that even when masquerading as one of HER kind, he still managed to be undeniably awesome.

"Maybe you don't realize just exactly who I am, sweetheart..."
