Not wanting to be dragged along on whatever Mission of Annoyance Schuldig had planned for himself at lunch, Farfarello instead headed straight into the cafeteria, alone

Jack glanced back bitterly at the doorway. "Hospital", the nurse had said. Well, that was fine and dandy if he were sick, but he felt perfectly healthy. Besides, it's not like he ever had to worry about healing anymore, since he had become the most powerful Fable.
And she wouldn't even deign to answer his questions when he asked her what exactly was wrong with him then. Simply that he was "unwell" and that his "family" was waiting. She might have said more, Jack acknowledged, but he hadn't been listening particularly closely to the words coming out of her mouth. Hospital, huh?
Well, if he was sick with anything, it wasn't showing. He glanced around the cafeteria he was now standing in and noted it was quite empty. Sure, there were a couple of people scattered around (in the same attire, he noted), but they didn't seem to be particularly "unwell" either (weird looking, maybe).
Unless...this was a mental institution.
Jack sneered. That made much more sense and seemed much more Revise's style. But why bother leaving him at the mercy of the Mundy when Revise was more than willing to punish Jack himself? That's what didn't make any sense and continued to plague the Fable with doubt. If this was Revise's work (and who else could have been responsible?), why was Jack not in a more...precarious situation?
'No matter,' Jack thought, casually throwing together a meal, 'No Mundy can hold JACK HORNER captive for long. I'm not so easily brushed aside...'
But now was not the time to escape. He would need the element of surprise and he was still rather unfamilar as to where he was. No matter, he could just ask one of these other..."fine" people. Scanning the room, Jack looked for a potential mark to solicit for information.

Odd how he hadn't noticed any problems before.
Spotting someone who looked far more confident than he should, Haku put on his best happy, friendly smile and walked over.
"Hi! May I join you?"
Reply
Didn't mean he had to be particularly polite.
"Yeah, whatever," He looked at her again. Same outfit as him. Probably meant she was crazy. Just his luck that another psycho woman would be all over him. So long as she wasn't another Goldilocks, he could probably tolerate her. "What is this place?" He had already determined that it was most likely a looney-bin, but he still held out for the slight chance that he had been mistaken.

"It's called Landel's Mental Institution, but it's not a hospital at all," he said in response, considering the man for a moment.
"You must be new." He bowed his head slightly in greeting, then smiled happily up at the blond man. You could almost see the little hearts.
"You're in a prison ... of sorts." He shrugged.
Reply
"No, I'm pretty sure this is your run-of-the-mill psyche ward. But you keep on dreaming your prison dreams, babe."

"You were given a new name upon waking, and they will tell you all about your 'life' should you care to ask." Haku smiled again and reached up to brush his hair back, bringing the bandages on his face into view. "Of course, you might want to be careful when and whom you ask."
He paused, then sighed, face turning down and hair again covering the white cloth. His voice took on a sincere sad tone. "I know it sounds strange. You don't believe me." He contemplated sniffling a bit, but that was pushing it too far right now.
Reply
"Not particularly, no," Jack looked about the room again, not really hiding his disinterest in Haku. Wasn't there an OLDER woman he could be chatting the panties off right now? "But if it helps you sleep at night, I won't shatter your dreams."
Reply
"Look," he said, pitching his voice to still sound feminine, but also more in-control and less vapid. "I don't really care if you believe me or not." He sighed and looked out over the room. "But I'm going to tell you what everyone else here will. You are trapped. This isn't a hospital," he was ticking the list off on his fingers.
"And anything that you think makes you special and powerful," he looked Jack up and down, "and it's obvious you think you're god's gift to life itself, is either gone or severely limited here."
He shrugged. "But, again, I doubt you'll believe me. So feel free to ask someone else or you can just wait until nightfall and see for yourself."

"I've yet to be impressed by anything you've said or done." He smiled slightly. "As far as I can tell, you're too busy trying to find someone here that can entertain you to realize you're even in trouble."

He couldn't wait to simply waltz out of here when finished with his lunch. That would show this cunt. Not that she was even worth one upping. He was Jack of the goddamn Tales. The greatest Fable ever, by his own making no less! There was no place- Fable, Mundy, or otherwise- that could ever keep HIM captive.

Flat-chested. Really. Of course he was. But the point remained that he now knew exactly what this man responded to, what buttons to push, and how to manipulate him to do what he wanted.... to a point.
"In fact," he said. "Why not give it a go right now? And when you fail, as I know for a fact you will, come find me. I'll probably be the only person here willing to assist you." Even those here that were completely good people probably wouldn't be able to handle this man for more than a few minutes. Haku was used to people like him.
He wasn't as unique as he thought he was.

Haku's words, however, enraged him into acting earlier than planned. If that little girl was so keen on proving him wrong, he would show her the kind of man he was. "Why not?" He sneered back, hopping to his feet and moving from the table. "I was only hanging about for the free food anyhow."
Jack stalked up to the doorway and approached the staff. "Hey," he snapped, "I don't belong here, so I'm not staying. Do you wanna give my things back before I go?"
Reply
"Mr. Trick, please lower your voice and take your seat. You wouldn't want to start up a commotion, now do you?" She chided, that cheery smile still on her face.
Reply
It would be fun.

He glanced back toward Haku. Good. She was watching. Jack smirk inwardly. He was about to show her just how easy it was for him to solve his problems.
