Night 56: F31-40 Hallway

May 29, 2011 02:29

Normally, Rita wouldn't touch the slop the military called food, but after a long and quiet dinner shift with nothing but her stomach to listen to, she finally gave in and took a few bites. It tasted terrible, and it was demeaning to be expected to eat it, but with her roommate fast asleep, Rita had managed to get a small amount down her throat without facing any humiliation. She couldn't handle the taste for long, though, and soon the tray was shoved aside.

Bringing her notebook with her, Rita threw herself onto her bed, shifted around until she was comfortable, and started reading over her notes. She supposed she might as well make herself comfortable and get some studying done while waiting for the night to come. There were still a lot of things she copied from Leon's notes that she didn't properly understand just yet, after all. The boy's original notebook was left on her desk, sitting out in case Claude decided to make an appearance that night. It didn't matter much to Rita whether he did or didn't, though.

She remained absorbed in her studies until she heard a click at her door. The lock? Her eyes narrowed in the direction of the exit. The doors usually unlocked after an announcement... but none came, even though one was specifically mentioned earlier. In her quiet room, where the only sounds were those of Rita and her sleeping roommate's breathing, she was able to make out a second click. That didn't usually happen... did it?

Minutes passed, and no other suspicious sounds came, so Rita returned to her reading. Taura was supposed to be meeting her in her room, so there was no point in getting up until then.

[Waiting for Taura (and possibly others)]
