First two Support Stacie "Homemade" items.
Okay, I'm finally getting the image work done on these. Drop spindles next, then cookie stamps. Once I get all the images together, I'll be shipping them off to the "Homemade for Christmas" auction folks (I'm rather glad of the deadline extension for this, even though I can't claim a postal strike as an excuse).
Anyway, I wanted to do a couple DW-ish things, but without possible copyright violations, so some "inspired by"s heading your way.
Note that I'm not a skilled jewelry maker like countessaleska (who very kindly gave me a few bits and bobs from her supplies so I could complete these), and these are really more, um, assembled by me than made by me.
First, because I'm a total geek, a necklace inspired by my *own* fanfic, namely Rose's necklace in "Untouched By Frost":
Carved 3/4" (1.9cm) coral rose (dyed, but real coral), sterling silver key charm, gold-plated brass 18" (45 cm) "figaro" chain. Comes in a black organza gift pouch with silver stars and swirls. Key is set asymmetrically onto the chain to keep it from completely slamming into the rose and disappearing.
Not quite a gold-set carved rose cabochon and dinged-up Yale key, as in the story, but a reasonable approximation given my budget. Symbolism should be obvious to any Rose fan, even if they don't give a rip about my stories. ;)
Next, to honor our fandom's favorite composite Triple Goddess, a Bad Wolf-inspired necklace:
Lead-free 1" (2.5cm) pewter pendant, foil-lined glass millefiori beads, lead-free pewter "rondelle" beads, strung on a comfortable, durable waxed cotton cord finished with adjustable-length slider knotting. Max cord length about 26" (66 cm). Comes in a dark blue organza gift bag patterned with silver stars.
This one could be nice for a DW fan or a plain old wolf fan. The glass beads have a Vortex-y look to them I liked, in TARDIS blue, while the pattern on the pewter beads suggests TARDIS-y rondelles. Which is a lot to get out of 6 beads and a pendant, but what the hey.
Anyway, hopefully those will raise a few bucks between them. More to come!
