Anita Blake . . . on TV?!?

Yes, it's apparently true.

I'm not sure if I should run screaming, or settle in with a big glass of wine for the best MST3K night EVAR.

I'm sure they'd be even funnier if Cinemax (home of the World's Least Convincing Softcore) were involved.

vampires, teh sexxorz, tv, wtf?

Heh. You know, I could actually see a show based on the earlier books working reasonably well. Which doesn't mean that I don't also feel the urge to run away screaming... :)

Yeah, I know, the first books were good, and could make a really fun adaptation. It's just that the later books loom so large in the mind . . . :P ;)

BUWAHAHAHA...

It's IFC trying to answer the disaster that is Showtime's True Blood, their series based on Charlaine Harris' Dead... series.

I actually know some folks who like the "True Blood" series. I dunno -- never seen it, only read the first Skookie Stackhouse book. Not terrible, certainly, but the fact I still haven't gotten round to reading more probably says something. *shrugs*

On the plus side a television conversion couldn't possibly be any worse that the dreck in the books.

True! It might even be an improvement. And you won't hear me saying *that* often . . . :/

Given that paranormal TV series don't seem to have much staying power, hopefully they'll make a few really good movies and then run out of steam before they hit the point where it all goes to heck . . .

really? no wait... REALLY? oh.... man. I'm not sure how to feel about this at all. Like many readers, I enjoyed the first few books and have since been shaking my head at the developments I hear discussed on her forums (seriously, there's a reason I switched to Merry Gentry. A clear direction in terms of plot would be one of them). But... well, I suppose if they do the first few books, it might actually be worth a watch. And if they're willing to put LKH on tv, who knows, Sherrilyn Kenyon might have a shot someday.

hey, your journal is fun!

I could never get into the MG books, but hey, I could respect that they were, ultimately, all about pr0n. Nothing wrong with that . . . until the smut hijacks other book series, too! >:(

hey, your journal is fun!

:D I try; if it entertains me, I'll probably slap it up here and hope it does the same for someone else . . .
