Score! After finding the Perfect fabric at Discount Fabrics on Monday, I was inspired to try to get the rest of what I needed for my *slightly* secrecy project for Costume College at JoAnn's today. And guess what? Not only did they have the pattern I needed, and the perfect buttons, and other accoutrements, but almost everything was on SALE!

Pleating, pleating, pleating
Dress is coming along and will be done for Saturday night but the pleating is kicking my ass right now. I have repleated the same part of the skirt 3 times and then discovered that the pleats should face the back. Bugger!

Awesome sewing day!
I had the most awesome sewing day at my house today. Howlgirl was here along with my friend Nightbocci and we sewed! I got my Orange Creamsicle bodice all fitted and sewn by hand. The underskirt is 1/2 way done. Just need to do sleeves and overskirt. I should be done in time without too much stress...yay! And I am making a purse/pouch with the ( Read more... ) -
I am not a doggie mommy any more
Many of you already know I lost my baby in July. He went rather quickly which was a blessing for him but hard for me even though he had lived a good long life span of 12 1/2 years. I'm recovering fine for the most part (having a roommate and 2 cats in the house is helping) but there are days where I get sad when I realize that I'm not a doggie ( Read more... )
