Happy New Year to you as well. I think burning the calendars is an excellent idea, and I may try that this year myself.

Since this is the day before the celebration, I'm clearing the plants from around the fire-pot this evening and adding incense to the torn up calendars. Scented oils will be added to bring the sweet things for the New Year out of the old pains of the old year. Then on the first day of the New Year the ashes will be mixed with the peanut shells and other mulch to become fertilizer for the lavender and other plants in our yard. May your New Year be fruitful, full of Joy, friends and prosperity!

Thank you. I am not sure that the city of Syracuse will be ok with me having a fire-pot in my back yard, but perhaps I can think of a smaller, indoor alternative.

Yes, much of this year was very -- unforgettable. I'd love to burn my calendar but that would set off the fire alarms and I've already done that once this year. ::shakes head:: At least I got a new stove out of it.

I'm so glad your home is back to normal. The furfolk look settled, if not happy to have their photos taken. :)

And we need to talk about Vancouver! A con report from you would be lovely.

Happy New Year, Big Sister!
