I just noticed that four consecutive drabbles I wrote tell the story of Arthur & Gwen:

Things to Come - Arthur & Gwen become secretly betrothed

Tempest - Arthur & Gwen marry and Lancelot is devastated

Turmoil - Lancelot kisses Gwen goodbye and Arthur catches them

Too Late - Lancelot & Gwen pay the price for their affair with their lives

The tumultuous storm raged outside Queen Gwenhwyfar’s window with great crashes of thunder and dazzling streaks of lighting, like the turmoil now in her heart. Lancelot was standing before her with words of goodbye.

Lancelot stood alone on the highest tower of Camelot as the thunder boomed and the lightning zigzagged its way across the dark sky.  He was soaked to the skin, but he didn’t care.  Perhaps he would catch a chill, sicken and die.  Or maybe, just maybe lighting would arc itself down and strike him dead or hit the tower and he would perish ( Read more... )

He couldn’t get used to the “Sir” before his name as people greeted him.  He thought himself an awkward country bumpkin with delusions of nobility.
