Very cool! Do you cover the whole thing with epoxy to keep it from falling apart?

No. I use Mod Podge, which has the texture of Elmer's white glue. I paint it on with a sponge applicator and it dries clear. It keeps fingerprints and oil from sticking to the paper. Mod Podge comes in several finishes - gloss, matte, sparkle, glitter, etc. I use matte.

Really? Given that the epoxy is often used for bar tops and you have used it to embed things, I would have thought it would be better for this. Have you tried it?

No, since the sides of the outlet cover slant down, I figured I'd have trouble keeping it pooled on top while it solidifies, and if it leaked I might have trouble getting it to fit around the outlet. I used mosaic tile adhesive to glue down the keys and the watch gears - that should be strong enough to keep them in place.
