I was political this week. I forwarded a petition for Women Say No to Palin! to a LOT of my friends AND I responded by sending my own email about why Sarah Palin does not represent me.
This is fantastic and I wish more women would realize that Sarah Palin does not represent us, simply because she's a woman. I think it was a disgusting political move of McCain to choose her and, let's face it. He did it because she was a woman. I just went on a rant about Sarah Palin in the comments of my personal journal, so I won't litter yours with one, but that's awesome. More power to you!
My boss forwarded the Women Say No blog link to me, which made me happy. I personally believe that her gender's something of a red herring, and it's her evangelical/independent appeal that's really going to cause problems, but it was nice to vent. ;)
I don't disagree with you about her appeal to the evangelical Republican base. Nevertheless I am offended about the gender thing being used, even as a red herring. As an avid supporter of Hillary Clinton, the idea that anyone in the McCain campaign thought Sarah would be appealing to us based upon her gender is highly patronizing and offensive.
Which makes the Women Say No to Palin thing very happy making.
Glad it made you happy, and thanks for sharing the link. It'd be great if you sent them an email to add your voice to the chorus as well. I found the appeals from the younger respondents very moving.
Yay sister! Did you send in your personal message and forward it to your buds, hmmm? It felt good to be able to DO something with my outrage.
The day just FLEW by. But I did catch up on some rl stuff that's been hanging over my head and got the emails down from 90-something to 30-something, so it was productive.
THANK YOU FOR THE STROKING! I CRAVES IT! ALSO NO FOAMY STUFF CAN DEFEAT ME!!!!
