Too quiet...

After almost a month of being constantly with others thanks to my trip home and having culf around last night, being alone in the flat right now is really weird.

Meeting my mom and aunt at Waterloo tomorrow for more touristy London things. Today we went to Hampton Court Palace and took a boat down the Thames, two things I hadn't done before.

I dragged the boys to the Hampton Court Palace flower show the summer we lived in Surrey. They were both still in a stroller, and Daughter wasn't even a twinkle in my eye. Now the younger of the boys will be 19 come Monday week. Never did take a boat out on the Thames, but we used to go into Kingston on Saturdays to the Bentall Centre. (There's a TGIFriday's there. *lols*)

The flower show wasn't on when we went but it has started now. I'm tempted to go back and see it, if the weather is nice.

Ah, the Bentall Centre. I bought nearly all my Christmas gifts there and have spent too much money in that Waterstone's and HMV. I didn't know there was a TGI Fridays though!

I think it's across the street rather than actually in the center, b/c we used to park in the garage for the multi-level Waitrose there and walk across the street to the mall b/c we knew we'd be going to TGIFriday's right before we went home. Of course, that was 18 years ago...

It rather saved my life that autumn, because I was a little worn down from anemia (and chasing a one- and two-and-a-half-year-olds) despite the prenatal vitamins, so we used to go to the mall on a Saturday and I'd have their spinach salad w/ hot bacon dressing (AND AN ICED TEA!) for lunch. Felt much better after loading up on iron and proper bacon. Plus it was one of the few places around where one could get a kid's meal w/ a hot dog. Elder-Son got really tired of chicken fingers after a while, and wouldn't eat hamburgers at the time (picky eater.) *grins*

If GoogleMaps is right, TGIF's is right next door to the Waitrose on Wood St., which is more-or-less right across Dolphin St. from the Bentall Centre.
