Some screenwriting stuff, books I need to read, movie theater ranting

Screenplay #5 is at about 25 pages right now and I wrote another scene today, but I spent most of the time reorganizing the first act and making notations on scenes I need to write. I knew the act one felt too short and needed a little beefing up, and I got to the point today in act two where I couldn't continue unless I made the necessary changes ( Read more... )

The one really brilliant thing about seeing a movie in So Cal (besides the fact that they run a lot of test movies there) is that everybody stays all the way through the credits. Too many people are / know somebody in the film biz.

The same was mostly true when I lived in NYC. Either people knew people who worked on the film or they were just film geeks who respected films. Granted, I also used to go to movies early Friday afternoons so there were hardly ever people there, even for a new release.
