Presumably Wilson knew that House would probably drop the first flashlight? Why else would he have two?

Heh. I couldn't believe that Wilson handed it to him in the first place -- he should have known House would deliberately drop it down there with the keys. That said, I'm thinking Wilson always carries two flashlights as a matter of course -- just in case. I'll bet he was a Boy Scout at some point (their motto is "Be Prepared") and I'll also bet he hates surprises.

If he has the right tools, he can control things. Or at least, I think he believes this.

Kidsnurse (I think) noted that that particular type of flashlight comes in a two-pack, one big and one small.

I loved your analysis of the ep! :) The sheriff section had me squealing and thinking of Nightdog's fic. *g*

Just because there are two in a pack doesn't mean you have to keep both of them in the trunk :D

And thank you! I loved that ep so much (and have just realised I spelt 'sheriff' with two Rs, oops.

Thinking about it again, I wonder whether a part of Wilson was actually hoping that House would drop the flashlight...

Wilson is definitely Boy Scout material :D

I'd have preferred it if John *was* his biological father after all, but hey. I was delighted that Blythe had called Wilson, and that she called him James and thanked him, and clearly recognises the long important role he's had in House's life :)

But my fav bit was when Wilson cottoned on House was up to no good at the funeral, and stood up, and went over, and PUT HIS HAND ON HOUSE'S SHOULDER...

I did mull that one over a lot, but I think in the end it worked fine that John wasn't his 'real' dad. When I said I wondered how Wilson met the House parents I was thinking of your fic and hoping that was how it happened, because I adore that fic :D

Oh yes, the hand on the shoulder. That was definitely another good bit, although I think that it might have been improved by Wilson going "It's OK, Greg dear, don't be upset" and kissing him >:D

I loved it that:

1. House was RIGHT about the real, deepest reason Wilson left -- fear of loss, especially of a loss Wilson can't control.

2. House stood up for himself, emotionally. He didn't let Wilson get away with much, and he did insist on telling Wilson the truth about himself, and he did insist that Wilson loved him and still does. That did my heart so much good, because really, Wilson had lied to them both, himself and House, so horribly. And for a while, House had believed it.

I think he knew the truth the moment Wilson lied again: "I'm not doing this because I care."

OK, you're not Nightdog or Perspi because they've already commented.

*ponders*

This comment sounds more like Mare than Dee, but Dee usually comments on my posts. I'm confused XD

And I agree with your loving those things - particularly House telling Wilson the truth. I hope we'll see some fallout from that, while they sort themselves out, but given the way this show treats things like that, I won't be surprised if we don't.

And that smile after Wilson's disclaimer was definitely a knowing one :D

I'm just happy that there's still plenty of room for both banter/blowjobs and deep-seated H/W love each other, but will keep on hurting each other angst.

Life is good. (As soon as ALL THE NEWBIES DIAF!)

Oh, absolutely. I suspect that TPTB try and keep things at least a tad ambiguous, if only because any viewer (casual or otherwise) is likely to have a preference for X kind of story or Y kind of story (unless they like most kinds, like me :D )

I like Kutner and Taub, so there ;P

the whole point of killing/abandoning your baby girl (in China) is that you're only allowed one child, therefore you don't want there to be any evidence that you've had one, so it would be very stupid to leave your name and address with the orphanage...

I know! I thought that was weird too. Although I rationalised with it the whole 'maybe she was allowed to have the kid on condition she gave it up for adoption'. But then you'd think they wouldn't be so quite so freaked out to see her. Or not.

Small aside: I was intrigued to hear how much Mr Birth-daddy lost the tonality of his language when he got all shouty /language geek

I'm intrigued by this. You mean he sounded more American or something? :)

WHY is it so amazingly hot when House and Wilson start shouting at each other? *fans self*

LOL, I don't know either, except that maybe it shows they have 'passionate feelings' for each other, and damn, now I can't remember where I originally heard that phrase...

I wondered whether Mr Interpreter-man was lying to her about who her parents were, but on the second viewing it was clear that he believed that they were the birth parents. Hmm. I suppose you couldn't have had House realising they'd tried to kill her if they hadn't set it up that way ( ... )
