Characters: Keyblader's Court Residents and anyone who wants to join in! Content: A pool party! Time of day: Afternoon, possibly running into nighttime. Location: At the pool behind Keyblader's Court Warnings: SPLASH HAZARD!
Of course, Sora was just as raring to go as his best friend was. He had already popped open a soda and was pacing around the back gate entrance (thankfully there was another entrance to the courtyard in the back, because navigating all the guests through the traps would've been difficult). He wanted to go ahead and jump in the pool right now, considering the late summer heat was already in full force, but forced himself to be patient and wait for their guests.
Thankfully, it seemed that Riku and he's invitations had done the trick. Sora waved in excitement as their first visitors appeared from down the walk. "Hey there!"
Iris had debated a long while about whether or not to show up to this affair. On one hand, there were people that hated her because of Dahlia and she didn't want to make people uncomfortable. On the other, she really wanted to meet new people. So she settled it with a coin toss. It came up heads, so she packed up some tea and cakes from the tea house and made her way to the party.
Since her visit was last-minute, she hadn't a swimsuit, and she hoped that wouldn't be a problem.
"Er... Hello!" she smiled brightly, and offered the package to Sora. "I hope I'm not too early."
Sora's expression took on a look of surprise as Iris approached...for a moment he thought it was Dahlia, and was ready to offer up some extremely harsh words, until he realized the girl had much darker hair. He'd only spoken with Iris a little on her journal, but he didn't really know what to think of her yet. How aware was she of Dahlia's misdeeds? ...Had she done anything as bad?
Still, they had said that anyone was invited, and those who weren't welcome would already know so. So Sora decided to give the new arrival the benefit of the doubt, eventually replacing his befuddled look with more of a genuine smile. "No, you're just in time!" he replied, folding his hands behind his head. He couldn't help noticing that she was still dressed in normal clothes. "You're not gonna swim?"
She looked down at herself. "Ah, no, I couldn't find a swimsuit, and I found out about this rather last minute..." she blushed slightly. "I'll be just fine without one, I think. But I did bring tea and some snacks, so I hope that makes up for it."
She had noticed Sora's reaction, but pretended not to. She would simply have to prove the difference between herself and her sister one person at a time.
[OOC: This is the thread where your character can bring in a CD (or in this case a song) for the party. Just link to a YouTube video or a file you'd like to share. Here's one of the songs that played before IllumiNations at Disney's EPCOT, title and artist unknown: http://www.sendspace.com/file/4vdisu Sounded appropriate for a KH-based party.]
Riku snapped the instruction booklet shut. "...I have no clue why they call them 'tracks' instead of just 'songs' but the track number is the song number on the disk, apparently." He handed the instructions to Demyx. "I think that's about it. Like I said, if you have questions, check the book, not with me, since I barely know how this thing works. I have a disk in there, so that can play first. Other people are bringing theirs. Think you got it?"
Demyx snatched the instruction booklet with a bit of a flourish. "Tch, of Course I got it!" he grinned. "If it's musical, I can work it just fine!" The Nobody stepped up to the tricked-out stereo system an d karaoke equipment with a laugh, and got to work.
Demyx, clad only in dark, silver stringed swim trunks, and the chain from his organization coat, grabbed a CD, and tossed it in without a second thought. World music (Titled 'Illuminations") popped on, and, after listening for a few moments, cranked the base and volume.
Then, however, he began flipping through recordings he'd brought... ranging from some hard-core metal, to Surfing USA. He left that CD on top, figuring he'd play it next.
Riku raised an eyebrow. "Okay then, have fun with it," he said, not intending to be cruel with that sort of comment to a Nobody. "Just make sure people know they can come up and give you their music." He walked off with a smile, feeling confident at least that Demyx was the best person for the job.
Vincent followed the music to the back gate of the apartment complex, holding Lucrecia's hand and guiding her along, as she was still a little sick. The Ex-Turk had been... persuaded by the scientist to find a pair of trunks for himself, leaving his normal attire behind at the museum. (Sans the gauntlet, since that didn't come off.)
Vincent waved as Sora did, and the couple moved to the poolside. "Heh. ...feels weird." The Ex-Turk chuckled. "You doing alright?" He addressed the woman.
Lucrecia had come across a conservative one-piece suit and she was glad for it. She didn't know if she would be welcome or not, but as soon as she had heard, she'd asked Vincent about going. A bit of persuasion later, they were at the pool. Lucrecia was holding onto Vincent for stability, both in mind and in body. With a smile, she followed him to the pool, finding herself relaxing for the first time in a while
( ... )
She had motioned for him to follow in after her, and he wanted to. He really did.
However, the Ex-Turk merely looked to his gauntleted arm, then back to the water, uncertain. The weight would drown him. But he didn't want to leave her in there alone... Shuffling over to the pool's edge, Vincent stuck his legs into the water, splashing it around slightly and looking back at the woman with a small smile. So he couldn't swim. This was close enough, right? As long as she enjoyed herself, it didn't matter.
Lucrecia sighed a little and finally managed to hoist herself back up out of the water. Somehow her arms didn't give out so she could settle herself on the edge next to Vincent. Scooting a little closer, she turned so she could see what else was going on at the other end of the pool. A lot of people were showing up and she found herself being amazed at the sheer number. Music was now being played and the scientist reveled in the idea of just ... being alive and able to feel all of this, hear it, see it.
Her head slowly found its way to Vincent's shoulder and she rested there next to him, finally allowing herself to enjoy this second chance.
Her chest was beginning to hurt though. It was funny; after so long, Lucrecia was beginning to like physical pain. It meant she was alive. Her rather well-endowed chest was complaining about the bathing suit she'd found. On the one hand, she was lucky to have anything at all, but on the other, nothing was quite made to accommodate someone her size. So she was making do. After all, it reminded

((No picture for me D: I'd imagine something pink, and not extraordinarily-showy XD;))
Kairi was pleased that they pulled everything together and that it sounded like they would have a good turnout. The group had done a great job cleaning out the pool, and Goofy had done weeding before, too. She stood on a patch of grass, overlooking everything, making sure they hadn't missed setting up anything.
She still wished Naminé was coming, or even that the girl would let Kairi visit her... Truth was, even though Naminé insisted that she was fine, Kairi... didn't fully believe her, but she didn't want to press.
Kairi moved off towards the pool, pulled up a chair, and plopped herself down. She wanted to wait until there were more people before she indulged in the cool water. And then the fun would start!
It was a very rare occurrence to see Axel looking uneasy. This was one of those times.
Even if he couldn't precisely feel the unease, he did at least know that it should be there. Fire and water...did not mix so well. A pool party wasn't really any kind of place for him, but he didn't have anything else to do, and his apartment was too stuffy and closed-in, and even sitting on a cache of bombs got boring if he wasn't ready to do anything with them yet. It was hot enough to go shirtless, but he was wearing jeans--he was most definitely not dressed to swim, nor did he intend to be at any point.
But there would be girls there. Girls in bathing suits.
Hey, here was one now.
Axel made a beeline for a familiar redhead, giving the pool a wide berth as he did so. "Hey there, Red," he greeted, adopting an unaffected tone, which might have worked better if not coupled with his numerous, suspicious glances toward the water, as though he expected the edge of the pool to creep up on him if he wasn't watching it.
Now this was something amusing to see; Kairi didn't think that Axel was going to actually come because of the whole him-having-a-fire-affinity and this being a pool party. But, well, if something social was going on, then Axel would risk it, wouldn't he?
She tried really, really hard not to chuckle at his glances towards the water, and greeted him back, "Hi, Axel!" Okay, so there may have been a (very small) chuckle at the end of that. "How've you been?" Since their exhibition.
Axel was too busy eyeing the pool with all the suspicion of a cat to notice Kairi laughing at him, but her question did draw his attention back to her momentarily. "Hm? Oh, can't complain. Getting a little bored of sitting on my happy exploding friends, but I'm not up for danger and mayhem in this kind of heat." It was funny--a fire, the heat of a flame, had little affect on him, but this kind of weather did. He expected it had more to do with the humidity in the air than the actual temperature.
"How 'bout you, pretty girl?" Even the pool's proximity couldn't dampen his spirits much.
Rhode had dressed conservatively simply out of habit: the swimsuits she had found in stores were so drastically different to what she was used to! A different sort of fashion, to be sure. She had contemplated over her choices before picking out a swimsuit which consisted of a light purple tank top and black swim-shorts which had the imprint of a deep purple flower running up the sides.
Finding the Keyblader's Court hadn't been hard, and she crept in with her hands swinging at her sides - she was clearly happy to be among people for whatever reason. The young girl loved anything fun -- it was in her nature -- and it was natural that she would show up at a party, even if it meant running into those who she had been caustic to.
Meeting the narrators of the various journals was always a plus, and though she had promised to be on her best behavior, 'best' was always questionable with Rhode. Her smile was perpetually snide, and her eyes darted slyly about at the various party-goers before landing on the pool. It looked clean enough.
( ... )
Ellen was a bit edgy around all these people she didn't know -- especially in a bathing suit -- but, hey, a party was a party. Still, at first at least, she wasn't really sure what to say to anyone.
It couldn't hurt to say hi, she reasoned, so she sat down next to Rhode -- chosen completely at random. "'Sup?"
Rhode peered at Ellen as if the stranger were about to bite her.
"Hi," she tried, awkwardly. She was trying her very best not to be sarcastic, as much as it pained her not to be, but her eyes still held the calculating gaze of the sarcastically-inclined.
Her brain worked again for something pleasant to start with. "Are you new here, too?" Here obviously being Manhattan. At least they could be comrades in an antisocial sort of way.

"Yeah, I've been here a couple weeks." Had it really been that long? How time flew when one was having fun. Or not. "My name's Ellen."
