Vincent followed the music to the back gate of the apartment complex, holding Lucrecia's hand and guiding her along, as she was still a little sick. The Ex-Turk had been... persuaded by the scientist to find a pair of trunks for himself, leaving his normal attire behind at the museum. (Sans the gauntlet, since that didn't come off.)

Vincent waved as Sora did, and the couple moved to the poolside. "Heh. ...feels weird." The Ex-Turk chuckled. "You doing alright?" He addressed the woman.

Lucrecia had come across a conservative one-piece suit and she was glad for it. She didn't know if she would be welcome or not, but as soon as she had heard, she'd asked Vincent about going. A bit of persuasion later, they were at the pool. Lucrecia was holding onto Vincent for stability, both in mind and in body. With a smile, she followed him to the pool, finding herself relaxing for the first time in a while ( ... )

She had motioned for him to follow in after her, and he wanted to. He really did.

However, the Ex-Turk merely looked to his gauntleted arm, then back to the water, uncertain. The weight would drown him. But he didn't want to leave her in there alone... Shuffling over to the pool's edge, Vincent stuck his legs into the water, splashing it around slightly and looking back at the woman with a small smile. So he couldn't swim. This was close enough, right? As long as she enjoyed herself, it didn't matter.

Lucrecia sighed a little and finally managed to hoist herself back up out of the water. Somehow her arms didn't give out so she could settle herself on the edge next to Vincent. Scooting a little closer, she turned so she could see what else was going on at the other end of the pool. A lot of people were showing up and she found herself being amazed at the sheer number. Music was now being played and the scientist reveled in the idea of just ... being alive and able to feel all of this, hear it, see it.

Her head slowly found its way to Vincent's shoulder and she rested there next to him, finally allowing herself to enjoy this second chance.

Her chest was beginning to hurt though. It was funny; after so long, Lucrecia was beginning to like physical pain. It meant she was alive. Her rather well-endowed chest was complaining about the bathing suit she'd found. On the one hand, she was lucky to have anything at all, but on the other, nothing was quite made to accommodate someone her size. So she was making do. After all, it reminded ( ... )

Vincent sighed a little. He didn't want to make her feel like she had to get out...

But as the brunette leaned up against his side, the Ex-Turk found himself feeling more relaxed than guilty. This was nice, just kicking back. No crabs, no monsters and no other crap to deal with. Vincent gently wrapped an arm around the woman, grateful that she was happy. And when she was happy, well... he could get close. He could try. For her sake.

Rubbing her shoulder a bit, the Ex-Turk asked. "Heh. When was the last time we went to a party like this, huh?"

[[OOC: erm... either before Marluxia shows up, or else Loz just doesn't see him.]]

Loz wasn't all that comfortable in large groups of humans (or mostly-humans like here). Neither was he particularly social, outside of the few bonds he formed, or beyond what use he felt he could get from people. Neither was he in any mood to try - really, he mostly wanted to just hang out in the apartment and make sure that Naminé was okay and stayed that way. He wasn't sure he could take it if he messed up again and something happened to her too.

However, there was a pool party going on. In the courtyard of the building that he'd originally chosen because it was away from most everyone else, and therefore safer. He wasn't quite sure why or how half the population of the island seemed to have descended upon the place, but if they were here, it was in his best interests to go down and scope out the crowd and take care of any problems before they got past the traps on the stairs, right ( ... )

Lucrecia couldn't help the feeling of safety that descended upon her when Vincent wrapped his arm around her and rubbed her shoulder. She reflexively snuggled closer, in awe at how close they were after so long and so much had happened. She'd never imagined he would forgive her for the mistakes she had made, but in doing so, he was allowing her to begin to heal, to begin to forgive herself.

So much could go wrong and yet so much was going right. Lucrecia didn't notice the man watching them as her eyes were mostly closed by now. A smile was on her lips for a moment before it faded at Vincent's words.

"Years..." came her small answer. Years... that was the answer to everything. Either that or never. Those two applied to everything she had thought of or done in her lifetime. The realization was slightly depressing.

"But we have now, right? We have this time... together..." She was trying to reassure herself more than Vincent.

"Of course." Vincent replied softly, resting his head against hers. "And nothing can change that. Never again."

The Ex-Turk noticed the Remnant sitting down out of the corner of his eye and tensed, holding Lucrecia closer to him. He supposed he should've expected it; it was Loz's yard, after all. But still... he suddenly felt very uncomfortable. He wasn't sure why. Vincent looked to the water again.

"Um... think I'll try and go in. I just... I'll hold onto something."

Loz wasn't really paying attention to the two of them - he was looking around the courtyard at the other people that had arrived. From here he could keep an eye on the main entrance into the building, too, which did make him a bit more comfortable with being out of the apartment. But there were a lot of people and a lot of noise and a lot of sun, and overall, his mood was already deteriorating (further) when he noticed the woman snuggling up to Vincent in spite of the heat.

His jaw tightened and his eyes narrowed, but it took only a moment for him to realize that really, it wasn't that the ex-Turk had a companion that bothered him; it was that he missed his brothers and had the niggling suspicion that Kadaj might be gone because this woman in particular was here. He'd been unable to find any evidence to the contrary after he'd come up with the idea and he couldn't get it out of his head ( ... )

Lucrecia was taken a bit aback by Vincent's sudden change of heart, but she couldn't say she minded much. With a smile, she slid off the edge and situated herself in the water. A chair creaked nearby, causing her to glance over at its occupant. A frown creased her features for a moment. It felt as though she should know him, but she quickly pushed that thought aside and turned back to Vincent.

"Are you going to be okay?"

"Um... y-yeah." Vincent replied softly, unsure about what he was about to do.

Very very slowly and carefully, the Ex-Turk eased himself into the pool, keeping his left arm raised above the water for now. Luckily, the water only rose to his chest, even after his feet reached the bottom. Being very careful not to let his arm sink and drag him down, Vincent moved to the woman's side. The water rose a bit higher and he stopped short in alarm.

The woman glanced at him curiously, but said nothing. Loz shrugged it off. It wasn't like people didn't look at him a lot anyway ( ... )
