Whatever his initial impressions of the place, Kefka had decided that wherever he was (as he still didn't know the proper name of it, since no one had stayed around him long enough to actually tell him) was starting to get rather...boring. Sure, he'd killed a few civilians, and caused a minor panic, but with his powers severely weakened, there wasn't a whole lot he could do here - at least, until he found a new source of magical energy to harvest. And the people that he'd encountered so far that had magical powers were a bit too eager, in his opinion, to hang onto them ( ... )

Terra stumbled back, alarmed. "I... I didn't!" It was his fault that she'd lost her memory. And it wasn't as though the Empire was doing good things, experimenting on Espers. She didn't even have a sword to defend herself with.

This situation was beginning to look very bad, very quickly. The space around them was fairly open; she could run for it, if she thought she had the chance of not being blasted. A second option bloomed - she could morph, she'd have some time to run away, but, with her feeling so unwell, who knew how long that would last? Her thoughts felt like they were moving slowly through a mud river. Retreat was a viable option, she decided. "And I really don't have the time to catch up."

Terra turned and darted into the little grove she'd come from, hoping to find cover in the trees.

He frowned when she replied that she hadn't missed him - if he was capable of it, he'd almost feel hurt. Instead, he was just amused. "Well, I've missed you," he said, following her into the grove, and beginning to gather a little bit of energy. "You act so shocked to see an old friend...I'm hurt." He laughed again, as he kept moving towards her.

Terra had been...he supposed 'special' was the word he had in mind. One of his more prized subordinates (he ranked her right under Celes), she had been most useful to him in the time that she served him. Of course, a lot of that was due to the influence of the slave crown that he'd put on her head, but who cared about the details.

"Come and play, Terra," he said, releasing some of his stored power, blasting part of the pathway in front of her as she ran. "Because we're stuck here for a while anyways, so we might as well enjoy the ride." He cackled once more.

Should she turn around and fight? Or keep running. Terra shielded her face from the flying debris of his blast and turned around. The little copse would be ruined, and it would be her fault if she just let Kefka continue on like this.

"I'm not interested in your games!" she replied. She had just learned a spell, perhaps it would work. Terra's magic lit her from the inside out, and it felt like she was permanently Slowed before the spell shot out at Kefka. Her head throbbed angrily in protest, and she felt something warm and coppery-scented run over her lips. A quick swipe at her nose confirmed she was indeed suffering some kind of nosebleed.

Hoping to buy herself a little more time while Kefka (hopefully) fried, Terra took off again, her vision blurring.
