Daniel was out wandering a bit, himself. Despite his own advocation of the new 'don't go out alone' rule, he got restless occasionally, but he did at least TRY to be careful. This time he was heading towards the Strand to see if he could talk to Harry Dresden about possibly implementing the crab-hunting strategies they had considered at Aya's breakfast meeting. He was almost there when he spotted someone he didn't recognize walking down the street across from him

The crab suddenly shuddered soon after a sharp burst of wind flew just above the heads of the two men standing within feet of the creature. The parasite shuddered, lost its footing, and tumbled to the sidewalk. Two more sharp gusts of wind, and the crab let out in unearthly shriek, its legs grasping for traction... despite the fact that two of them were now rendered completely useless

Roy snapped back to reality as Daniel appeared, one hand closing over the lighter in his pocket. He was instantly alert, but he saw no trace of anything he might need it for. His eyes narrowed slightly. He glanced at the man beside him and started to ask something when a sudden wind went over his head and the crab fell to the sidewalk. It shrieked after two more hits and Roy winced at the noise, pulling out the lighter. He flicked it open and snapped his fingers, directing the flames to the crab and allowing it a small explosion.

"That's the biggest one I've seen yet," he commented. He turned to the man beside him again, a controlled, smug smile on his face. "Don't think we've met before, have we? I'm Colonel Roy Mustang."

Daniel ducked reflexively when the familiar wind blast of a rifle shot went over their heads, caught off-gaurd by the sudden gunshot. As the crab fell to the ground (and exploded, what the heck?), he straightened and searched the sky for the source of the gunfire. He finally spotted...that guy who he had ironically never gotten the name of, but he recognized him from Spock's arrival at the internet cafe. "Where did he come from?" he muttered. "Convenient." He gave the guy a short wave to show that he'd seen him

Roy couldn't repress the smile that curled his lips, nor did he bother to try. Three ladies had appeared at once. He liked that. Two of them were especially lovely; the third, while he was sure she was quite the beauty - look at those legs - was hiding her real form under all that armor. He directed his grin at the lady with the spear.

"And leave all these monsters wandering around free to go after you? I can't do that," he replied smoothly. He saw the same guy transmuting some flames again - how was he doing that when Roy's gloves wouldn't even spark? Roy quickly snapped, taking the flames and directing them at some of the crabs around Kida and Chao. He smirked at them and said, "I'll try paying more attention, but with you beautiful ladies here, I might get a little distracted..."

Daniel was fighting close to Roy and Kida, using his shotgun as a blunt weapon as much as a firearm. (Good thing it was sturdy.) He caught sight of Roy redirecting Harry's flames for the second time - 'How does he do that?' - before finally getting an opening enough to yell to Kida, "Where did you come from?! Wait, nevermind." WHAM - another crab backed away, squealing from the sharp blow to its eye. "There aren't exactly openings for getting into a building right now, Kida..."

Then he just sort of trailed off as he registered what Roy was saying and...WHAT did he just say? Daniel almost lost his concentration enough to let a smaller crab get past his gaurd, but the thing got a few good shots to the face instead. Meanwhile, Daniel was having a VERY hard time not staring at Roy with at least one eyebrow raised halfway up his head.

Oh boy...Kida is prooobably not going to take well to that, Roy.' He smirked in amusement as he shot down another crab coming up behind

(OOC: Remember, Kida can't see him be bitten yet if we want that healing thread later.)

Kida had raised an eyebrow at Roy at the first comment, but took it at first as a display of chivalry. However, at the rather superficial compliment, Kida found the time to growl and roll her eyes between attacks. "Then look less-" she took a swing at a parasite, "-and fight more!" That being said, the fact he could summon fire was more than just a simple curiosity for Kida. The queen kept it in check, but come battle's end she would certainly ask. Provided comments stayed appropriate.

"You have a gun, he commands flames, and we have our strength." Kida grunted with a crushing blow to the head of a parasite. "We will MAKE an opening!"

That being said, if Roy's turns of phrases needed to turn the other cheek, Daniel would find Kida quite capable of throwing water on that fire.

"Easier said than done," he commented lightly, more to himself than anyone around him. Roy turned quickly as he caught a crab trying to sneak up on him through the corner of his eye. It won't be that easy, he thought to himself and he flicked the lighter open and sent the flames flying at it to hit in a small explosion.

Of course, he was intrigued that this woman only carried a spear when everyone else appeared to be far better armed. But despite that, she was doing a good job at keeping the crabs at bay. He raised an eyebrow and smiled at her.

"Impressive. You're a pretty strong woman, Miss... Kida, was it?" he asked conversationally as he took down another crab. "Can't say that I've seen many people who could destroy these things with only a spear." Then again, there was a man here who was tossing them around as if they were only toys. This city was full of surprises, that much was certain.
