"And leave all these monsters wandering around free to go after you? I can't do that," he replied smoothly. He saw the same guy transmuting some flames again - how was he doing that when Roy's gloves wouldn't even spark? Roy quickly snapped, taking the flames and directing them at some of the crabs around Kida and Chao. He smirked at them and said, "I'll try paying more attention, but with you beautiful ladies here, I might get a little distracted..."
((OOC: Alright guys, we'll be splitting up into smaller groups now to try and keep up some semblance of organization. Feel free to start new threads!))

Daniel was fighting close to Roy and Kida, using his shotgun as a blunt weapon as much as a firearm. (Good thing it was sturdy.) He caught sight of Roy redirecting Harry's flames for the second time - 'How does he do that?' - before finally getting an opening enough to yell to Kida, "Where did you come from?! Wait, nevermind." WHAM - another crab backed away, squealing from the sharp blow to its eye. "There aren't exactly openings for getting into a building right now, Kida..."
Then he just sort of trailed off as he registered what Roy was saying and...WHAT did he just say? Daniel almost lost his concentration enough to let a smaller crab get past his gaurd, but the thing got a few good shots to the face instead. Meanwhile, Daniel was having a VERY hard time not staring at Roy with at least one eyebrow raised halfway up his head.
Oh boy...Kida is prooobably not going to take well to that, Roy.' He smirked in amusement as he shot down another crab coming up behind ( ... )

Kida had raised an eyebrow at Roy at the first comment, but took it at first as a display of chivalry. However, at the rather superficial compliment, Kida found the time to growl and roll her eyes between attacks. "Then look less-" she took a swing at a parasite, "-and fight more!" That being said, the fact he could summon fire was more than just a simple curiosity for Kida. The queen kept it in check, but come battle's end she would certainly ask. Provided comments stayed appropriate.
"You have a gun, he commands flames, and we have our strength." Kida grunted with a crushing blow to the head of a parasite. "We will MAKE an opening!"
That being said, if Roy's turns of phrases needed to turn the other cheek, Daniel would find Kida quite capable of throwing water on that fire.

Of course, he was intrigued that this woman only carried a spear when everyone else appeared to be far better armed. But despite that, she was doing a good job at keeping the crabs at bay. He raised an eyebrow and smiled at her.
"Impressive. You're a pretty strong woman, Miss... Kida, was it?" he asked conversationally as he took down another crab. "Can't say that I've seen many people who could destroy these things with only a spear." Then again, there was a man here who was tossing them around as if they were only toys. This city was full of surprises, that much was certain.

Daniel grunted as he bashed another crab away with the barrel of his shotgun. "I don't know if my gun is going to be much use if they keep getting this close!" It was hard to aim and shoot at something when it was right in your face, after all. There were a lot of the monsters in this clearing - where did they all come from, he wondered for the 27th time - and they were stuck in the middle. "If you've got a plan, Kida, I'd be happy to hear it!"
He did manage to make one extra comment during a brief opening: "Roy, I know Kida's crab-spearing is amazingly impressive, but I'd really hate to see you die because you were distracted by a pretty woman. Didn't mean anything by that, Kida," he added quickly.

Much as Kida appreciated Daniel's gentlemanly nature, how either was making the time to make those comments in this situation was beyond her. She dared to half-roll her eyes and mutter, "Men."
After a quick glance, she gestured with her head towards a store. "There! The glass windows! Break one! I can lead most of them away!"
This is where Kida could prove her agility. With a quick leap Kida pole-vaulted on her spear as high as she could, managing to flip once before coming down on her feet a little harder than she would have liked. However, such a flamboyant display accompanied by a yell certainly didn't go unnoticed. "I can outrun them, so worry not about me!" As she began to vault away, many of the crabs began to follow.

But Roy was quickly reminded of the crabs when a horde of them took off after Kida. Despite what she said, a situation like that triggered a soldier's instinct to protect, and he flicked and snapped in their direction. He took care not to leave himself vulnerable, however; he alternated between attacking the crabs in the immediate area and the the ones following Kida, until they were too far away for it to make a difference. At that point, he discovered that a good number of crabs were surrounding Daniel and himself.
"Well, isn't this fun," he commented. "You wouldn't happen to have another lighter, would you... Daniel, was it?" He'd begun to have trouble with his soon after Kida took off. It would flicker, but it refused to provide a flame until after a few tries, and he wasn't fond of the idea of being out here without any sort of defense.
