Being one of the people to set up the party had its advantages, namely in seating choice. J had already lined up a bottle of Cuervo and a trio of shot glasses, as well as lime and salt, at one end of the bar. He'd taken a seat on one of the stools and thrown his jacket (good old windbreaker - wearing his suit to a bar party wasn't the best of ideas, so he was going casual tonight, at least so far as clothing went) over two others in the classic "This Seat Saved" gesture. He was definitely expecting Rookie to show up - the lone bottle of O'Doul's on the bar next to the Cuervo testified to that - and hopefully Chief would come too, despite not having been there for the rescue mission. If Missy showed too...well, he'd find another stool or he'd stand.

In the meantime, he'd swung around in his stool, back against the bar. The tequila would keep - no sense in drinking alone, after all.

Picture, if you will, a red-haired chick in a black leather jacket strutting into the bar like she owned the place. Thumbs hooked in the pockets of her jeans, she's checking out the situation, giving the tequila an appreciative look, and all of a sudden leaning against the bar with a cocky little smirk. Yeah, Riza was feeling pretty badass.

"Nice choice," she said to the back of J's head. "Nothing says party like Jose."

J spun in his stool and flashed a grin at the new girl - he'd seen her around on the network, hadn't he? "Somethin' like that," he replied lightly. "Though Jose's nothin' if you don't have someone to share him with."

Was that an invitation? Why yes it was.

Admittedly, this party was a little less Spin's preference for a celebration. He didn't have a problem with others drinking, but he had always been happy playing the role of the driver.

But J had made it pretty clear he expected the younger Agent to show up, and even with Iris' party a few days past, Spin was willing to let himself go out again. He gave J a wry smile as he entered and sat down beside him.

"Really took charge of it, didn't you?" He smiled. "Not to say it wasn't called for."

Botan put her finger to her chin as she thought. Was it fashionably early or late? Oh well

As she saw the address up ahead, she turned on her heels to smile at her reluctant companion. Shikamaru's laziness sometimes put her off, but she had come to think of him as a friend (and a personal project). She certainly thought he should get out more.

"Come on, Shikamaru-kun! Put a pep in your step!"

Shikamaru mumbled something under his breath as he followed behind her.

They were celebrating, they had every reason to celebrate their good fortune. They had done TWO impossible feats, they had saved their friends from the sliver of an island they were trapped on. He had no issue with them wanting to party.

But why on Earth did that annoying woman insist he had to party as well.

"There is no way you'll get me to have any 'Pep' in my step..."

Why me, the ninja sighed, "Won't you have more fun if you didn't bother dragging me along?"

"No way!" She grinned. "You need to do more things. It's not normal for a boy your age to be so disinterested."

The perky reaper turned from him. "Besides, I needed someone to go to the party with. You can't just go alone. It's a social faux pax!"

Yes. The nonhuman knows all about human social habits.

"I'm entirely fine with my disinterest," it was way too much work to try to explain how this was too troublesome and she should of just let him sleep. Everyone gets to be loud and happy and he gets to sleep without anyone bugging him. It works out for everyone.

"Go to the party with...?" Oh no, OH NO. A date screamed trouble. Shikamaru shook his head, "You could of stated I was your escort, I would have tried harder to get out of this. Dates are troublesome."

Kang loved parties.

By then, he'd gotten his injuries healed, and he felt a million times better; he could move his wing again, and walk without pain shooting up his leg. Damn, it was nice.

The trip to the tavern was a very common occurence for him. A smile on his face, Kang entered, heading straight for the bar and ordering his usual.

It was hard to miss that big lug. Riza spied him from over her shoulder and spun around in her stool. She hadn't had anything yet, so it was still a relatively safe maneuver to pull off.

"Kang! How the hell are ya?" she asked, quite informally. Things were different out here, in a bar instead of on the battlefield. It was very nice.

"Hey. Riza, right?" Kang grinned, turning to look at her. She reminded him of his own race's females, with her attitude, and he liked the fact that he didn't have to watch what he said around her like with most Softskin females. "I feel a hell of a lot better now that I don't have that damn sling. You don't realize how much you use a body part until it gets injured." He moved his wing a little bit in demonstration.

In return to his display, Riza checked out her left arm, just to be sure. The color of blood had finally faded and now it was like she'd never been bitten at all. "Yeah, I hear that. You know during that whole Central Park thing, I was doing it with a bite? Two weeks of it." Yeah, that was a bit of a badge of honor for her. "Glad I got it patched up. You look like you're doing better, too. That's good. No use celebrating when you've gotta spend most of your time licking your wounds."

Daniel walked into Seventh Heaven a happy man. After everything that had happened in the past two weeks - and beyond that - he relished the chance to actually sit down and relax. He was even out of his SG-1 uniform; the olive drab BDUs and Kevlar vest were replaced with a nice casual brown long-sleeved shirt, jeans, and a black windbreaker he had purloined from an abandoned Macy's. He'd kept his combat boots, though. And of course his pipe. You didn't go out for any occasion around here with some sort of bashing implement.

A number of people were already there, and Daniel didn't feel like butting into any conversation. So he wandered over to the bar and ordered a drink, and watched. Sometimes it was nice to just sit and watch. Of course, he was also waiting to see if anyone felt like striking up a conversation. Either was was fine by him for the moment.

It took information to survive in any setting, and that was one thing the mage lacked. So when he saw what appeared to be a tavern, bustling with activity, he naturally gravitated towards it, walking in with his staff tapping along the floor before settling in at the bar. Rather than order anything alcoholic, however, Raistlin ordered merely a glass of hot water, pulling out a small leather pouch of herbs and stirring some into the tea. The resultant mixture was a foul ichor color, and smelled horrific.

He turned to regard Daniel out of the corner of his eye, his hood raised and obscuring his features. "Are you also one who arrived? Or are you native to this world?" he asked.

Daniel eyed the newcomer beside him suspiciously. The man was wearing some sort of cloak like he was trying for an aura of mystery; Daniel felt like he was sitting next to someone from Lord of the Rings all of a sudden. And then he ordered plain hot water, and dumped something into it that...looked and smelled nasty. Daniel tried very hard to be polite and not gag, instead burying his nose in his own drink.

Then the man spoke to him, and Daniel had to seriously repress a sigh. Honestly. One evening to relax and unwind after all of the strangness they'd just gone through, and of COURSE the one extremely strange guy he's never met decides to come and talk to him. Such was his life.

Still, the archeologist wasn't going to be rude by ignoring the question, and he made sure to keep his face free of any signs of his mild aggravation. "Yes, I came here from somewhere else. Are you new here?" That would explain a lot; new people were popping up pretty frequently.

"Quite new," Raistlin replied in amusement, sipping from the glass. Immediately he pulled a face. Not even he was used to the disgusting mixture, necessary though it was sometimes. It was certainly necessary now, however, as the new place (wherever they were), had deemed fit to play havoc with the wizard's lungs.

"It tastes even worse than it smells," he muttered, staring at the drink a moment. Then, smirking, he glanced back up at Daniel, his golden eyes flashing from beneath his cloak.

"People must be constantly coming and going, given the reactions of people here. It's odd enough to find oneself in an entirely new world, but to likewise meet people from one's own future must be ... difficult."

Parties were awesome! As long as there was music and people and dancing, who cared? Granted, Missy wasn't much a drinker, but it was still fun to be around people and everything! It was an energy she hadn't felt for a while as she stepped into the bar, dressed like a girl out on the town (though only moderately conservative.. considering what she's used to wearing, it was a big step up though) and glanced around with a big smile on her face.
