It was actually quite nice for Fran to have guests and not need to prepare tea on her own time, for once. Of course, it meant fewer things to do to occupy her time, but she was doing a decent bit of cleaning up on her computer in preparation for a fellow scientist's arrival. There was so much speculation to be expounded on. So many theories to test out. She was so caught up in her own typing that she barely realized her guest had knocked.

It took a moment for Fran to respond, but eventually she did, swinging open the door with her face beaming brightly. "Ah, you must be Chao. Come in, come in! I trust you found the place all right." She glanced at the things her like-minded sister had brought and smiled even wider even as she stepped to the side. "You didn't have to go to all this trouble!"

From all the experiences and adventures Chao had already been through in the short span of 14 years, she didn't even blink at Fran's appearance. Sure, the bolts on the fellow scientist's head were a bit of a distraction, but that certainly didn't make them appalling in any way. Chao beamed back at her new acquaintance and nodded her head as a polite welcome.

"And you must be Dr. Fran! Its a pleasure in allowing me to keep you company." She greeted back and stepped inside the doorway when the offer was presented. Curious as always, she looked about her new surroundings, taking it all in patient interest.

"Oh no, It's no trouble at all really," She waved away Fran's concern with her usual humility. "It just gives me an excuse to cook and treat a new friend-yo."

That was an interesting greeting. Chao must have been quite accustomed to people like her, Fran thought, keeping up the smile. She noticed her companion's humbleness and made a mental note of it.

Looking around Fran's home, Chao may not have noticed much. All the truly interesting things were in the basement, out of public eye. To the left of the doorway was her operating room, the cleanest room in her house, stocked with gleaming tools and bottles of alcohol for sterilization. Straight ahead was the main room, and beyond that the tiny kitchen. The main room had, among other, less interesting things, a bed pushed off to one side (the sheets unkempt, as Fran had been up late working last night and hadn't found the strength to really care about straightening up), a computer and comfy chair along the other, a table in the corner, and a strikingly empty bookshelf. A hallway in back led to the basement stairs ( ... )

Chao gave a brief glance of the immediate surrounding area, taking note of everything that she saw. It wasn't much, but the martian can admire simple households when science and study was involved. Her smile grew wider at seeing the spotless operating room. It was very professional proper, as it should be. Nonetheless, she was sure Fran would guide her around as they discussed the collected information, so her curiosity could wait. As relaxed as ever, Chao made her way to the table in the far corner of the main room and set down her gifts.

She laughed at Fran's polite worry. "I don't mind the mess at all, you should see my room at the Strand."

Unscrewing the top from the thermal, she poured a cup of tea into the lid.

"You made discoveries? Is green tea okay with you? I wasn't sure which you would like, so I chose the most healthy."
