In all honesty, even though Chao enjoyed being around the members of Strand, she couldn't help but be a little irritated by the amount of discussion of Magic mechanics being brought up in a such frequent basis. Don't get her wrong, there was some small degree of interest and enjoyment from learning new things about the magical field, especially those from another universe, but the poor genius had started to miss some of the more real sciences. Working in the Strand usually came with residents observing her work and asking the process in which she was doing at that moment. That was all well and good, but it slowed her work and she just generally missed having colleagues that understood what she was saying or working on, even be helpful assistance.
That was why it was such a relief to find this supposed 'Fran' also shared their love for science and discovery. Wasting no time to dally, Chao had spent the time after cooking some proper gifts to give to the other scientist. Rations certainly weren't the best ingredients to use, but the martian used some her own trademark style to make up for it. Properly carried in a cardboard box, She even took a thermal full of Earl Grey tea to add to the meal.
Standing at the front door of the building, Chao stared at the building for a moment to size up the location. This may be peaceful meeting, but Chao had learned a long time ago that worlds like 'Manhattan' didn't always have peacefulness in mind. Still though, Chao didn't feel any bad feelings emanating from the first appearances. Noticing the lack of a doorbell to ring, Chao knocked against the door with enough force to be heard, but not aggressively so.
