Characters: Mizumachi Kengo, Russel Tringham, possibly more...? Content: Russel rebuilds his laboratory. Mizu "helps." Location: Library Hotel Time of day: Early afternoon Warnings: Silliness, most likely.
Russel climbed out from under the stand that held an aquarium (which was odd in its own right in that it was entirely made from one single piece of glass) at the sound of an intruding voice. "Something worthwhile. How about you?" he asked. He gave the intruder a quick, evaluative look, before putting his eyes and his screwdriver to a pump that sat just to the side of the tank.
"Really? Cool, can I help?" Mizumachi asked, clearing the distance between them in two strides and squatting down, tossing the ball aside entirely heedless of what he might break or damage by doing so. "What is it?"
Russel's eyes followed the ball. Fortunately, it only bumped against some cardboard boxes of trash. "Depends on how much of a neanderthal you are," he replied, keeping his eyes on his work. His bangs hid it from view, but he rolled his eyes before answering his next question. "It's the beginnings of a hydroponic garden. In these tanks I'll have water and it'll be enriched to provide as much nutrients as possible for them to grow, so we don't have to rely on the food we're given."
"Meander-what?" Mizumachi asked, then proceeded to be just as confused by the rest of what he was saying. "A rice paddy? Inside? I don't think that'll work."
