Characters: Meyrin and open to anyone in the BPH. Content: Meyrin intends to move into the Bryant Park Hotel. Location: Bryant Park Hotel Time of day: Afternoon Warnings: None
Blaze did not make a habit of talking to people. Partly, this was because talking to people had always been Silver's forté, partly it was because she was rarely interested in what they had to say. This was doubled when it came to humans. Needless to say, she did not recognise Meyrin, but then she knew very few people in Manhattan by face aside from those she supposed she needed to.
The look on the human's face, however, was about as vacant as the upper floors.
Sigh.
"Standing still only makes you an easy target," she said, failing at any tone other than stern. "Are you looking for somebody?"
To Meyrin's credit, she tried not to look surprised, even if she failed miserably. As a result, she stared at Blaze for a few seconds, before her brain clicked and her mind started working again. She knew that this world wasn't normal. If magic could exist, so could talking animals, she reasoned.
"Oh? Um, no. I'm just..." Wondering what she was supposed to do? "... thinking." It wasn't a lie, at least.
Unfortunately, leaving it at that meant she would get nowhere. Therefore, she added, "I heard there were available rooms here?"
Blaze was more irritated by how slow she was, rather than the fact she was staring. In her own world, standing still and gawping was the fastest way to getting oneself killed, and Manhattan didn't seem to be much kinder.
Still. She at least had a sense of responsibility. Idiots needed places to keep safe just as much as the rest.
"Mm," she replied. "Several." Then, "I take it you're a new arrival."
"Then no one would mind if I moved into one?" Then the... cat? asked her a question. "Yes, I am. I arrived a couple of days ago."
It'd felt like longer, to be honest. Meyrin knew she shouldn't complain, but she wasn't used to this kind of situation. Even back in her world, amidst the war, she'd been with her sister and friends. Here, she didn't know anyone.
"Someone already explained to me about the crabs and monster, but if you have any other information, it'd be really helpful!" she said, smiling. She had been a CIC, after all.
