The prospect of meeting with another medical professional was intriguing; it had been quite some time since she'd had the chance to just sit down and discuss things over tea. So long, in fact, that the request (so shockingly normal a thing to ask) had surprised her immensely.

Normalcy. 2009. Meeting with another doctor for tea. It was...nice, honestly. A welcome respite from the post-apocalyptic hell she'd come from.

She had no trouble finding the place, outside of the few detours she'd taken down side streets to avoid the chittering meta-beings littering the city. Thus she stood outside the door to Fran's...abode, looking up at the building in front of her. After a brief moment's deliberation, she reached out and knocked on the door, because that was what was polite when a colleague invited you over for tea.

Yes, well, even though there was very little Fran did that could be described as "normal", some of the simpler pleasures were always worth taking time out for. The Frankenstein doctor answered the door with a smile on her face, two bolts in her head, and some dismembered crab legs under her arm.

She stared at the visitor for a moment with her head tilted to the side. "Ah, may I help you?" Surely this couldn't be the doctor herself? How fascinating if that turned out to be the case.

Angelicus's eyes rested on the crab legs only briefly before falling on Fran's face once more. It wasn't strange that a doctor would be studying the creatures here, and likewise Fran's appearance was not at all strange compared to what she was used to. So neither got any sort of reaction outside of that first glance.

"Fran?" Her voice, as always, distorted by that almost radio-static sound. "I am Doctor Angelicus. It is a pleasure to meet you in person."

Ah, that voice was unmistakable! "Doctor Angelicus! The pleasure's all mine, really! Please, please, come in," Fran told her, standing to the side and clearing the doorway. Now that the formalities were out of the way, Fran took the time to analyze Angelicus, looking her up and down very carefully. That must have been... hm. Well, surely she couldn't have been born that way, right? Of course not. No human womb would have brought forth something like her in this form, and the voice under that mask was most definitely human. No, this must have been a side effect of that great distortion she had mentioned. The Blaze, was it?

Fran suddenly noticed that she had been silent for longer than she had meant. "The water's on the stove, so we have some time. I hope you found the place all right. Did you run into any trouble along the way?" The patchwork person certainly hoped not. The crabs were finally learning to stay away from the laboratory! At least, the living ones were; the dead just piled higher and higher. Oh, wouldn't it be fun to show ( ... )
