Harry leaned against the pickup truck, amazed that his comrades had gotten the vehicle fixed up and read for use on such short notice. It was good that they had, since Harry had a feeling that they would need all the help they could get shortly ( ... )

"I'm thinking steroids would be better for this, but coffee is the best we have, no?" Sara mumbled, checking her gun for the umpteenth time to see if it was clear and ready to be used in a pinch. She had other weapons hidden on her body, ready for use as well. A couple knives rested at her waist, and various other blunt objects were in a bag on her back.

Placing her side arm back in the holster, she hoisted herself up into the truck, trying to focus on the task ahead, not on anything else. Like the fact that a certain person wasn't going to be happy that she was involved in this and hadn't mentioned it.

It was time to do her part, finally.

Celes had been resting to the best of her ability up until the time to leave for the designated meeting point. She knew who she would be running around with and where to meet and that was enough for her. She would follow Harry's lead as usual.

She was quick to make it there, glancing around as she arrived and nodding once to those who had already made it. "I'll have your backs," she commented, adjusting her belt where her blades were hanging. The look she shot Harry after that clearly said, "Unless you think of a better place for me."

Toph was glad she was finally getting some action, you'd think the girl would have had enough after the monster encounter while saving those people but frankly Toph was starting to miss her adventures back home and this was the closest she was going to get to it here. Toph could feel the truck sitting there as Harry jumped up into it, "We're riding in this thing ( ... )

With luck, the mission would turn out better this time than it had the last. Aya wasn’t looking forward to teaming up with any kids this round, particularly with loud and obnoxious ones with delusions of surpassing God.

Yeah, that was some picnic.

Hopefully Eve would understand why she had to sit this one out. Aya made sure that she was well taken care of all the while, a kindly acquaintance of hers who stayed at the apartment in One Irving Place to look after the child. That way, if she couldn’t make it back in time, Aya wouldn’t have to worry about leaving Eve at Pete’s Tavern by herself. Sure, there were other people, but she couldn’t bring herself to burden them with any more than she already had.

She left that morning before Eve even woke up, leaving the girl behind to be looked after by her acquaintance. Eve should understand. She would have to. This was something mommy needed to do. That it would be selfish if she only concerned herself with her own problems, protect only the people that she loved. There was so much work to ( ... )

Leon once again loaded himself down with whatever ammunition he could reasonably carry and still maintain mobility. Over his chest he wore a flak jacket, emblazoned with NYPD. Wrong city, but it would do.

He wasn't surprised to see Aya there already, the woman worked harder than most people did in this city. It kind of made him feel like a slacker, really. He'd have to remedy that later, assuming they all made it out of this alive.

"Hey," he said, approaching the woman. He had a pistol at his hip, a shotgun slung over his shoulder, several pouches on his belt for magazines and other sundries, and a knife on a harness over his shoulders, on top of the armor. "Here for the party?" Might as well keep things a little light before they all dove into the deep end.

Mail sack of tools (flashlights, batteries, screwdrivers and wrenches, so maybe there were a few more tools than they might need, but she wanted to be prepared) and water slung over her shoulder, Kaylee approached the location Harry had given her cautiously. She was not, by all means, excited about going back underground. Not with the possibility of once again meeting a monster, at least ( ... )

Freudia Neuwahl had placed her faith entirely in Harry Dresden. But that was not the only reason she felt confident in her abilities to run interference as she had been directed. She had led covert missions before; this was nothing new. And what abilities she did retain in this city suited her purposes well. But she would have to wait for the others to arrive before putting things into motion.

As she waited with closed eyes, her thoughts raced, mostly towards the potential answers such an endeavor could bring. Why they were here. Where their abilities had gone. How to get home. Home... what was home anymore? Surely it was where one grew up, in the literal sense. And she had Castle Sepperin for that. She had spent fifteen years of her life there. But was it not also the place where one's friends were? She had been friends with Tia since they were both barely cognizant. And that was to say nothing of Grolla, Sichte, and the others. Even Zorne had her charms ( ... )

Riza arrived at the rendezvous site as planned. She was armed practically to the teeth and much like her previous adventure into the subway system she had a shot gun as well as two handguns, a few knives stashed in various places on her person, lots of ammo, a backpack full of med supplies and more ammo, and a few grenades (you never know). She was patient, waiting, she'd read over about a few of the people who were coming and was glad that Rosette was one of them...at least she knew someone on a more personal level on her team...everyone else was practically strangers.

Of course, missions like these had a way of bringing you closer to people.

She spied Freudia sitting on a wall up ahead and approached her, "I apologize for the delay...I was looking for one of my knives."

Having pulled his costume on for the first time in more than a week, Billy - Wiccan - was feeling pretty good about this. He'd managed to sleep properly the night after the meeting, which had been a first, and he wasn't feeling anywhere near as frayed and anxious as he had been. It wasn't like he was 100% certain this operation would be everybody's ticket out of here or anything, but he'd be doing something. He'd be making a little bit of a difference.

Hopefully.

He'd brought the staff he'd summoned in his struggle with Rorschach, carrying it over one shoulder - he was getting better used to having to regulate his magic, and anything that would help him focus was a bonus ... plus, if his magic crapped out on him, a big heavy stick was a good thing to have around ... but he didn't want to be thinking like that. Confident, right? Confident. Yeah.

"... Uh, hi." Or ... not. "This is ... you know, the ... thing, right?"

Croix arrived alone this time. He told Prier about it, but even if she had wanted to tag along, her sprain still wasn't completely healed. Last thing they needed was a new injury on top of it.

He had his three guns with him today, with enough bullets to last five shootouts. Well, technically only two guns were in order, his last one could probably only shoot one more shot before falling to pieces. He had been saving that one for a moment like this, really, it was sad to waste firearms but in this case, it was necessary.

He arrived shortly after the first woman, nodding in her direction. "This isn't crazy yet."

Boriane walked towards the meeting point. She was a little excited. Finally a new adventure and meeting new people was always good. Although she wouldn't show her mood outside. Her dignity as a high priestess of Boron didn't allow. She reached the meeting point. Two people were already there.

Boriane wasn't very familiar with the greeting in this world, she hadn't met many people yet. She decided to use hers. "Boron bless you. I'm Boriane Daermon. At your service." A short bow, then silence.

She felt the gazes from both on her. She knew, her outward appearance was unusual to most of the people in this world. Her black robe with the hood, her black skin, the white hair, the violet eyes and her height. But she also knew the people wouldn't be concerned, her strong inner calm would relax them.

They were the first to arrive, Maka noted as she and Soul approached the tunnel entrance. However eager she was to get going, somehow she could blame anyone for wanting to linger back for a few minutes. It was awfully cold out this early.

"You ready?" she asked Soul tentatively. After their last battle, she wasn't exactly sure if they were ready for another. Given how explorations seemed to go on this island, there was bound to be a confrontation of some kind. The fact that they'd had to rely on...other methods to survive the last fight did not bode well for this round.

They would do it, somehow. She wouldn't give in again. They couldn't afford it, and she told herself that now before they got elbow deep in trouble again.

Miles pushed the cold to the back of his mind as he strode to the designated meeting point. The possibility of running into Franziska, who he has not informed of this particular venture had been high. Thankfully, his sister had been avoidable, and the lawyer arrived very promptly. As usual, he never strayed far from his suite without the sword that was now hilted at his side, and as he approached he sighted two others.

Arms crossed over his chest, he nodded curtly. "Are you prepared?"

Negi certainly felt ready as he approached teh small gathering. Kaede had been instructing him in knife throwing and he had a few stashed on his person along with his customary wooden staff.

"I hope I'm not too late," he replied as he approached them, noticing what the others had as weapons.
