Readjusting the bag over his shoulder, he hurried up the next flight. The increase in his pace now more due to the rising levels of eagerness than the will to keep a good arm’s length away from his companion. Within a matter of seconds, they found themselves at the top once again. This time however, there was only one way to go. No more stairs, just a doorway marked 3F propped open slightly by a worn out shoe. Turning back to Birdman, he grinned excitedly.
“Think we may have found where our good friend is hiding.”
Double voice had faded into one high, crackling whisper.

Slowly, he pulled the door open. Wasn’t too terribly creaky. Good, good. He practically leapt through once it had been opened just wide enough. Didn’t let it slam shut on friend back there though. No, he launched one foot backward and held the door open with it. Held it just long enough for Birdman to pass through. Soon as he was sure the other had passed the threshold, he skipped forward only to halt a few seconds later

He was sleeping still. Teenagers can sleep through hurricanes you know.

There was one door that would be his downfall. In a spur of the moment in found goods, Danny had sloppily painted his emblem on his front door. Not smart.

Danny, meanwhile, had woken up again. This time making his way to the kitchenette and getting a drink of water.

The faucet sounds kinda loud... he thought, still half asleep. After finishing the water, he made his way to the bathroom.
