Claire was returning from a walk around the block when instead of going back to her apartment she steered herself into the bar instead, intent on a beer and a snack when she noticed her brother messing around with something in his hands. It took her a few steps closer and a tilted head before she could tell what he was doing, but when she figured it out she snorted, holding the back of her hand up against her mouth in a belated attempt to cover the sound.
"I think the object of those things is to get the colors lined up. Not mix them up even more."
Chris turns his head at the sound of that familiar voice. The look on his face while he's trying to solve the Rubix Cube is the same look someone would have while attempting to disarm a nuclear bomb.
"Oh, like you could do any better."
Chris smiles, then puts the Cube on the bar in front of him. Time to take a break for a minute.
"I'm about to just peel the stickers off and put them back on in the correct places. But then I wouldn't have anything to do. Damn."
"The place has been pretty quiet after the two for one special last week." Claire shook her head, setting her shotgun down and pulling her coat off, before making her way around the bar and ducking down in search of something suitable to drink.
"Could always go raid a movie store or something. I think that's what everyone else's been doing. Nothing says disaster situation like watching horror movies."
A familiar brunette walks through the front door of the bar, unwrapping her blue scarf as she does so. Her face is a bit red from being out in the cold, but she seems cheerful and a lot more well-rested than when Chris first saw her.
She does a quick scan of the bar and sees two Redfields, and decides to walk on over and say hello, "Hey Chris, and Claire," she trails off when she sees the Rubix Cube.
She reaches out to touch it, "Mind if I take a stab at it?"
Jill slides onto a stool next to Chris and takes the Rubix Cube. She messes around with it for a few moments, and manages to get the green tiles to match up.
She holds the cube up to inspect the other sides. "Huh, now... where to go from here," she muses, and gives a sidelong glance to Chris.
Chris watches Jill as she starts moving the pieces of the puzzle around, an amused look on his face. That is, until she actually gets one of the sides solved.
"How about you put it down before you embarrass me?"
Chris frowns slightly, though it's out of playfulness.

He picks up his bottle of beer and polishes it off, then starts scooting the Rubix Cube around on the bar with it absent-mindedly.
"Hell, we can even try to find a bag of popcorn and cook it up the old fashioned way."

Chris smiles widely when Jill walks over, gesturing to the seat next to him.
"Be my guest. This damned thing is impossible anyway. Just don't make me look bad, huh?"
