Mia had come prepared. Once she'd learned that Phoenix was planning poker games, she'd headed over to a game shop and simply picked up a couple of boxes of chips. She'd learned to play in college, and she knew she could use some fun and relaxation, especially after her talk with Edgeworth.
"Hey there," Mia greeted Phoenix as she approached, taking a seat at the table next to him and opening one of the boxes of chips. "All ready to play."
Riza was actually looking forward to this, for one it was a good idea and for another she had begun to miss the poker nights with 'the boys' back home. Plus she wanted to work on that 'anti-social' tendency she seemed to have, especially about doing things that were considered 'fun' and 'not work.'
It was easy to spot the tables set up for poker and it looked like Mia as well as a young man who she assumed was the one who suggested the poker nights, already setting up. Riza couldn't help but smirk, remembering how many nights she had made Havoc burst into tears by taking nearly all his money not to mention one time his cigarette's when he'd run out of things to bet, "I hope so."
Godot wasn't far behind Mia- it had been almost a decade since he could remember last playing a card game. Back in college he'd been quite the stud when it came to poker, and he was looking forward to a chance to put Phoenix in his place.
"Evening, Wright," he said in a suspiciously friendly tone.
Of course Chief would be better at finding things than he was. He couldn't help a little grin, though - he was looking forward to the game being that much more authentic, and, well. It was nice just having Mia relaxed for once.
But Armando? Phoenix had been hoping they'd had some sort of breakthrough, but he wasn't about to chance getting punched in the jaw after their last disagreement, either; especially not this early in the night. He chanced only a quick nod before smiling up at the other woman - what was her name again? - and settling with a vague enough, "Glad you guys could make it."
Karrin walked in a few minutes later to see people already gathered. It looked like a good mix for a game; she just hoped her skills hadn't gone rusty. It had been a while since she'd gotten to relax with the guys after a shift.
"Hey, everyone." She lifted a hand in greeting. "Deal me in?"
Let it never be said that Tony Stark missed an opportunity to gamble. And when he heard about this, well, he was immediately making his way over. Besides, it was a good a way as any to meet some of the others.
And look, they'd already supplied the chips and cards. It wasn't like they were playing with real money, but it'd work, right? "Now we're talking. Mind if I start up another game, gentlemen? And ladies." He offered the latter a winning Tony-smile before seating himself and opening one of the decks.
Minako was glad to socialize. She'd been unable to during her crab-bitten weeks, which were nightmarish. There were so many new people, she wasn't even sure if she'd recognize half the people gathered. She'd managed to salvage a black minidress and some classy black heels from the wreckage of a shop nearby and thought it was perfect to wear that evening.
"I'll try my hand at this," she commented, taking a seat next to Tony. "Mind if I join?"
It'd been a long time since Harvey played a decent game of poker. Then again, it'd been a long time since Harvey did anything social. At least since entering Manhattan. Still, Poker seemed like a good enough idea, and it was something to get he and Rachel out and into a more social situation.
Harvey looked for two open seats and found them at Tony and Minako's table. Hesitantly, he approached.
Being out in public like this made her unusually uncomfortable, though she hid it well. Her new ultra-conservative wardrobe hadn't changed: a blue sweater that must have been at least a size too big, collared bunched around her neck. She tugged nervously at the collar with one hand, the other resting lightly on Harvey's arm. She hated being so self conscious about it, and could only hope that the feeling would vanish with time. Rachel put on a warm smile, inwardly rolling her eyes when she recognized Tony. The other girl she didn't recognize, but smiled all the same.
