Watch out, Manhattanites...you're about to be seeing double.
In the morning on Wednesday, Clover decides to leave Central Park and go for a little stroll down Manhattan's streets.
Until something unexpected happens.
Not five minutes after Big Mommy exits the park, a second Cloverfield monster appears, seemingly from out of nowhere about three blocks east of Central Park. The second monster looks almost identical to Mommy, but is slightly smaller, skinnier, and colored a darker shade of gray. For an exact comparison,
A map of the two paths that the two monsters take is provided below. Clover's path is in blue, the second monster's is in red:
The second monster is not nearly so docile. It immediately goes roaring at the top of its lungs and rampaging without any sense of purpose or direction, but ultimately moving south. It catches up with Mommy at the intersection of 57th and Park Ave. There, it calms down a bit and starts following her. The two monsters walk single-file down Park Ave. until they reach Grand Central Station. Here, Big Mommy decides that she's done with her stroll and disappears into one of her tunnels. The second monster panics again and turns eastward, roaring and smashing through everything in its path. The rampage lasts until it reaches the river, where it dives in and isn't seen again.
As if one monster wasn't bad enough, two rampaging in New York is absolutely devastating, and the damage is extensive. Up north, Hunter College and Bloomingdales are completely destroyed. St. Patrick's Cathedral and the New York Palace Hotel both suffer a bit of collateral damage from two monsters in close proximity...the second monster knocks a steeple through the cathedral roof, and the entire front facade of the hotel is smashed up, rendering the hotel uninhabitable. Grand Central Station and the NYU Medical Center are both completely destroyed. Any characters whose homes are directly east of Central Park or live between Grand Central and NYU Medical stand a good chance of their homes being destroyed.
A total of seventeen characters are all injured in the attack: Silver, Prier, Pence, Fletcher Tringham, Sasori, Michiru Kaioh, Ty Lee, Uchica Fugaku, Demyx, Harry Mason, Loz, Fran, Roxas, Rita, Odd Thomas, Billy Coen and Uchiha Sasuke.. All other characters can see and hear either one or both monsters from a distance.

The injuries characters receive during monster encounters is based on a scale. The scale is as follows:
1- Character got really damn lucky-- suffering from external or superficial injuries only, cuts/bruises/aches and pains. You'll feel it tomorrow.
2- Character is mildly wounded-- external or superficial injuries, though more traumatic or damaging than #1 (large cuts, embedded glass/metal, etc)
3- Character is mildly wounded-- external or superficial injuries. There is probably limb damage, a bad twist or minor sprains.
4- Character is mildly wounded-- external or superficial injuries, plus definite sprains to vital limbs*.
5- Character is moderately wounded with impeded movement. Definite limb damage including severe sprains and a remote possibility of a broken bone (non-vital**).
6- Character is moderately wounded with impeded movement, limping, severe pain to walk. A vital bone (leg, arm) could be broken.
7- Character is severely wounded with impeded movement-- walking and running are very difficult. A vital bone (leg, arm) is probably broken.
8- Character is severely wounded, movement is severely impeded (requires crutch, assistance, etc) Includes broken bones and many cuts and bruises. Mild internal injuries possible.
9- Character is too wounded to move. Includes multiple broken bones and many cuts and bruises. Moderate internal injuries possible.
10- Character is wounded within an inch of their recoverable life. Includes multiple broken bones, ABSOLUTELY restricted (if any) movement and many cuts and bruises. They might just wanna sleep this baby off for a while.
(*VITAL LIMBS: any body part that will severely hinder normal movement ie- arm, leg, rib, collarbone
**NON-VITAL LIMBS: any body part that will not severely hinder normal movement (you could get around it by limping/being careful): ie- finger, nose, toe.)
Any characters not running for their lives may notice one other detail: while Mommy has plenty of crab parasites on her back, the second Cloverfield monster doesn't appear to have any.
Where has the second monster come from? That's up for your characters to figure out. But your first priority is attending to the city's shell-shocked and injured citizens.
