::daisychain week 27::

We dream our lives
and, each night, we believe in everything-
the shifting edge of light
and dark, the possibility of what we think we are,
and what we think we see.
- Renee Ashley

This is the second week of January, 2009.

It’s been over six months since Cloverfield’s first attack on the city for the citizens of Manhattan, and although not all its inhabitants have been here that long, for many it’s probably beginning to feel as though they may never leave this place alive. Sobering thoughts for the second week of the new year, but at least the weather may provide some cheer-the first half of the week is sunny and pleasant, warming up unseasonably to highs in the mid-40s, while the second half brings on more cold weather and a gentle, persistent snowfall that will leave about six inches by the end of the week.

But the changing weather certainly doesn’t dissuade the crabs from being out and about. Danny Fenton, Jayne and Leon Kennedy are bitten this week.

An unusual event occurs on Tuesday in game-time (Wednesday-Thursday IRL): a rumbling is heard to the north, and a building collapses near the intersection of Park Avenue and 66th Street, leaving a big crater where it had been much like the one in Central Park from which Big Mommy is seen emerging from time to time. Has she chosen a new nesting ground? Characters may go investigate the crater, but are able to see nothing inside it.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION appears around the collapsed subway station where Zero held his ill-fated meeting. BIG MOMMY’S WATCHING also appears in various areas around midtown.
