Being as I live under a rock, I don't have any favorite celebrities. So, no the idea has never occurred to me, nor does it personally appeal to me, but that is just me. I would prefer to knit for either people I know, or people who have need -- once again, just me, and also perhaps a product of my "old-agedness." Potentially I might have felt differently in my younger days.

You know, I feel the same way. The thought of making something for someone I don't know, aside from charity knits, really doesn't appeal to me. Then again, I'd also be embarrassed at the idea of running to them screaming their name too.

Never thought of it. I barely recognize celebrities. They have little to no impact on my life. I don't even have a favorite actor or actress!

You know, I feel the same way. I enjoy movies and music, but doesn't really impact me the way they do others. The whole "Hollywood Hype" world doesn't interest me, either.

When John Travolta's son died I thought about making them something. Other then that I hadn't thought much of it.

Understandable, totally.

On a lower level, I remember last year when a young man who was vying for a spot on the US Olympic team was injured right before the Olympic Trials - the day of, during the final practice session. He went from being near the top of the list to not being considered. I seriously thought of writing him a letter to encourage him, then chickened out in the end. (Sidenote: He's competing again this year which makes me happy.)
