nehow

I'm going to learn Chinese! The only word I know is nehow which is hello phonetically. The classes start in January. I'm very excited about it. I have been seriously considering learning a foreign language, but Bosnian was my choice. Then I heard about Chinese and I got to thinking. . . I don't necessarily want to stay in Saint Louis. I'm ( Read more... )

How about Japanese? itsdeja_vu December 7 2004, 14:12:12 UTC
I really would like to go to Japan. Just seeing it in movies and pictures It seems so pretty. And the culture.. Not to mention the language. Maybe I will learn it someday. Down here there is more Chinese though. Where were you wanting to move to?
Now what is etd? As in Next August is the etd.?
Now then, my dad said that the quickbuild is going to be in MARCH! I wish they would stop changing their minds! Anyhoo, dad said that they don't have any quickbuilds during January and February. Well, I guess that's good because we will see my dad more on the weekends. He seems to always be gone.
Well, Maybe I will talk to you soon.

one of my best friends just graduated MTS and is a ministerial servant in the Chinese congregation in Queens. it's the real deal. if you really want to do it and could use any information, i could have him get in touch with you. i wussed out; i'm learning Russian... (have given presentations and am organizing territories for Russian ministry) Chinese is wicked hard!

I've actually signed up for a class to learn Chinese. I don't think it's actually through the society, but a brother who lived in Taiwan is teaching it (he's a blond surfer-type; it's very funny to see him speaking Chinese), and it's at a KH. So I'm sure it's the real deal. There's already one class going on and now they're starting another.

Hey don't say learning russian is "wussing out" I studies Russian for a while in school. It's not exactly a walk in the park either!

on your second subject... itallcrashedin December 11 2004, 13:12:42 UTC
Hey I hope the Chinese goes good. Go do it! One of these days I'll jump into something big like that too.

I think you have some balance. That's really hard to acheive, and the very best way to be. Niether super happy, (really can't be in this old world, as you said) nor depressed. You know yourself pretty well I think. As you said to me the other day, no third job -- no more stress. You know your limit. You know what you can and can't do to stay healthy, wealthy, and wise. You're walking that fine line like a pro, girl! Me, I keep falling off. I run and run and run, then I'm too exhausted to do anything for a few days, then I'm behind schedule and must hurry to catch up... Balance. It's a great acheivement.

I think they are/were holding Chinese language meetings in Rolla, MO on account of all of the engineering students from China. But Rolla sucks.
