Well, oddly enough the internet rumors were true. Sam's Club was having a midnight launch party until 2am for Rock Band. Only...it wasn't a party at all. Just 13 of us in line (including myself and two classmates), and only one person at a time allowed in store. And apparently some people were only there because just today they put up signage

callmesteam linked me to you because you had Rock Band and were having guitar problems. Was there a patch when you tried to play? I picked up Rock Band last night but haven't played it, yet. I did notice at next-gen.biz that they said there should be a day one patch that should fix some/all of the guitar issues. So, I was just curious whether you were prompted to update.

I played on my school's non-network-connected Xbox and have yet to have the time to open up my personal copy. FWIW, the guitar was working decently well for the first few hours, so I don't think it's a software bug. (Although we did come unplugged at one point, but that was before the big issue started.) Looks like EA's support page is eager to send out replacements, so I need to make sure my friend takes advantage of the warranty.

Yeah, definitely. This is the second time today I've seen mention of faulty hardware. Another LJ friend mentioned that the mic wasn't working. EA is eager to send replacements? That's good news. I'm just counting down the time at work so I can go home and test everything out.

I spontaneously bought it at Sam's Club b/c it was such a great price, but I haven't opened yet. Not sure if I should keep it ;)

Yeah, I've got plenty of other speculative merchandise I need to get rid of. I sure hope the buzz for Pleo builds up within the next few weeks; I was banking on him since this summer.
