And the concert

Mediocre, I'd say. Very by-the-numbers and all too relaxed. The only parts that felt raw were, unfortunately, the parts where it seems the band wasn't syching up properly. (Also, despite the fidelity in which the rest of the live performance matched the album, I was disappointed that the guitar solos weren't as stand-up as the album.) Set was ( Read more... )

The Makeup the Breakdown CD? The bad album I was referring to is Scenes One Through Thirteen. Makeup the Breakdown best defined the band's sound.

Well, they've got great, unique songs, and aside from some odd breakdowns, they're surprisingly faithful to the sound of the studio recordings. That said, I'd rather that live performances have an extra kick that you won't get from a CD. Their stage act was perfect...which was boring if you ask me.

I'd say they're worth seeing if the ticket price is less than $10. They have a very unique sound, so I would recommend you "sample" their music online so you know what you're getting into.

Last sentence of the first paragraph: replace "stage act" with "live performance."

i saw IMA ROBOT like 2 years ago and they didnt do too well. not impressed at all.

and carl, i am usually utterly surprised by the professional tone of your entries, but not ONCE did you mention who you saw at this show you so analyzed. then i was reading comments and people were talking about hot hot heat and god, they can make some raunchy music.....they sound like a worse version of rooney.....

GOOOOOODBYE GOOODBYE.....god carl, how could you?

I think they did a great job at the show at UCF. The singer didn't miss a beat, and the instrumentals stayed strong, together but still managed to break out solidly ( ... )

Whoops, I lost track of a point I was trying to make in the second paragraph. Because of the quirky qualities of the band's sound, their spot-on note-perfect live performance was doubly disappointing for being paradoxially straight-up.

Also, insert a comment about alliteration in my notes about the lyrics.
