He doesn't look like he's fine. He's sitting with his back against a tree and his shoulders hunched over like he's in pain. (Though, in this case, the pain is not physical.) And he looks like he's been crying.
If he wanders down by the lake, he might find Jack roaming along the shore, hands deep in the pockets of his greatcoat. Some of his cockiness has absented itself from his face, and he seems thoughtful, but he's likely to perk up easily, particularly if he has company.
The lake is one of Melou's favourite places to brood. He doesn't mind Jack all that much, but he's annoyed when he runs into him, because he wanted to angst out here all on his own.
Before he can think better of it, he scowls and says, "What are you doing out here?" It comes out angry and accusatory.
On the rear lawn, he might come upon Riku, busy practicing his sword form. We're not sure of the timeframe, so it's best to assume that Riku is still practicing with his wooded sword. But he might be working a little more slowly. He's trying not to think of how nice it would be to have a real sword, but perhaps someday...
Argh, I swear I replied to this one. I think my ipad's been eating my posts again u__udaddyissuesjnrOctober 30 2012, 05:36:31 UTC
Melou's out walking. When he spots Riku he changes direction, hoping the younger boy won't notice him. He doesn't feel like talking to anybody, Riku least of all. He's become a sort of surrogate younger brother figure for Melou, and since Melou's currently mourning his actual younger brother, he doesn't think he could handle it.
Quite all right! iPads can be hungry beasties...chevalier_boyOctober 31 2012, 05:55:16 UTC
Unfortunately, Riku's vamp senses kick in and he spots Melou. He pauses his form, raises the sword in salute and lowers it. "Hello, Melou," he calls, friendly. "You wanna help me out here? I could use a partner."
And since Hisoka is the one who told Melou his younger brother had died in the same battle in which Melou was killed, he's has been feeling concerned about him ever since. And of course Melou will run into Hisoka as the little redhead heads towards for the forest track that leads north around the lake. He has his shotgun over his shoulder (he no longer goes into the woods unarmed since his encounter with the wolves a year and some months ago).
"Melou!" he calls, seeing the young King of Britain up ahead.
Melou's quiet for a moment. He doesn't want to be talking to anyone right now, especially not family. He's hoping that Gawain will just get up and go away, even though he knows the chance of that happening is practically nonexistent.
"What are you doing here?" he asks, without looking at his uncle. He could not sound ruder if he tried.

"Melou? Are you fine?"
Poor Utena and her honest concerns.

"Hisoka," he says, trying to make his voice sound blank, but he just ends up sounding tired.

And so he'll just sit by Melou, and wait.
Gawain can do quiet brooding, really he can.
Er.
For a short while.

So he sticks around, says nothing, and waits.
