for the past few years, dan and i have made our holiday cards out of linoleum blockprints. i make the envelope print, and dan does the one for the card. this year ended up being an unintentional dichotomy: mechanical vs. organic.
I got your card post-Christmas, but was presently surprised and felt guilty I didn't make you one.
I was however somewhat inspired by your card; I felt obligated to make my Christmas cards Christmas-themed, which is very daunting, since I despise most Christmas symbols/themes etc, feel they're tacky and threadbare. Next year I may just do fun little lino carvings too.
here are 3 small or smallish presses that peaked my interest when i was searching a few weeks ago. i still wish to explore the used route to see what i come up with, but i thought i'd share, since they're all under $500 US http://www.madisonartshop.com/smallhandpress.html
no problem ... there's no obligation, but i like to use milestones like birthdays or the new year to drop a line. especially since i don't like to buy into the commercial frenzy.
i should post pictures of our card/envelope design from the last 2 years, too. this year's image was the vaguest, but they're never fully traditional christmas cards. hell, we don't even celebrate christmas.
