I don't think this lacks character development. In fact, one of the things I liked best about it was the exploration of Monk's discomfort with sex, not even so much with a man as just in general -- the shame he feels in performing the act, in wanting to perform it, in enjoying it -- as well as the signs that his relationship with Stottlemeyer is having salutary effects on his health and life/professional outlook. Of course, I also liked the humor laced throughout in all the ways that this is a fic about Monk: that he can only do this in the shower (hee! I thought the same thing a few lines before you said it), and that Stottlemeyer knows that and knows how to handle him and doesn't push. Figuratively speaking. (The description of the initial entry was lovely, btw.) Although I'm sure they still quarrel regularly. Great line about S. clinging to him even as he offers support; they clearly both need and help each other.

I'm always so thrilled when you bother reading my non-House fic ♥

I did try and make it a little more than a PWP... but not much more, LOL. I think you're right, in that I suspect most people are just aliens to Monk, and consequently he's not as much invested in being 'normal' ie heterosexual as other people might be. I love it that you 'predicted' the theory about the shower, and that you liked Stottlemeyer's behaviour. Although I agree, I'm sure it's still not a bed of roses XD

Thanks so much for reading, and the thoughtful comments :)

:-O OMG.

I think I'm speechless. My mind is blown.

Gimme a half a second, I'll be back to share my thoughts. When I can put them together. My mind is blown.

But I'm so thoroughly flattered! This is wonderful! More later. Promise.

Hee! So glad you enjoyed it. After you made me believe Randy could be kind of hot, I thought maybe this could actually be possible. I realise the logic doesn't really hold together, but it's true XD

(And while I was in final draft, I went around to look at your art, for no particular reason, and I was all OMG - that's my fic! You know the picture I mean. I'm not sure whether I must have subconsciously been thinking of that as well *g*)

LOL! Yes! I wanted to inspire, and I am so glad I did. And yes, I think I know exactly which one you mean ;0). I've gotten lots of positive reactions to that one ( ... )

The Towel- So much love. From Adrian wanting to pick it up, to Leland knowing that he was thinking about it, and telling him not to, to Adrian forgetting about it. I always figured that while making love, Adrian’s mind would stop working, or at least go into ‘Energy Saver Mode’! “Towel? There was a towel? What about it?” And this goes with my theory that Leland likes a challenge! Drop the towel and then challenge himself to make Adrian forget about it.

Then Leland’s mouth was on the side of his neck, soft and prickly and intense, and Adrian moaned.

Gulp! So did I, I think. That was a very, very good description. Wow.

I am especially in love with how you have Adrian having a hard time thinking about what they are doing, unable to actually even think the words, and how he can’t bear the idea of looking down for fear of seeing himself like that, or at all, and taking comfort in thinking about being clean at least.

“Come on, now… like that...”Okay, now you don’t have them saying much, but when you do…Damn. This, I could just imagine ( ... )

That may have been the first Monk fic I've read where they actually have (penetrative) sex. And it worked! I'm in heaven... *bliss*

Yay! LOL. I would say that's pretty much the reason I wrote it, because I hadn't seen it before. So I'm delighted you thought it worked. Thanks so much for reading! :D

I'm sure you hate LJ comments that come up just to tell you "OMG, MORE MONK-FIC, I can't wait to read this." But here it is. My print out pile is getting unweildy and I sureashell don't think I can read this one at the Desk Of Doom, but I promise it is in the pile and I will read and come back to comment properly.

No way, I can only say thank you for adding it to the pile. It amazes me that you did. Happy, though :)

Well the great House-fic has been a little thing on the ground lately, she said, cattily.

You are one of those writers that I would pretty much follow anywhere at least for a few paragraphs, although I am hoping you will avoid SPN as that seems to be where otherwise talented writers often go to die.

I think what you've done here is extraordinary in working with such a challenging persona, keeping it in character and hot at the same time. I literally CAN NOT watch the actual show at all, but I love your fic in the fandom. The backstory with Trudy was utterly believable and added extra poignance as you can imagine how conflicted he must be about that as well.

If cleanliness were next to godliness, then only running water could give him absolution for his sins.

Should go into some kind of hall of fame for great lines.

Pssst--Any Doctor Who/Torchwood fic in your future? I'd love to see what you could do with Jack/Anybody but Ianto.

Much, much love to you for reading - considering how you feel about the show, that's so lovely of you. (Since I don't watch Supernatural... that's highly unlikely, LOL.)

I almost don't know how to tell you this, but... Jack doesn't actually do very much for me, LOL. He's like the equivalent of Cuddy for me - very cool, a much-loved character by many, and hated by almost none, but just doesn't hold a particular interest for me. I loved JB singing in The Fix, but I think that's about it. So, um, probably not. I don't dislike him, and if you wrote fic about him I'd at least give it a try, but I don't really think he's my kind of guy.

I do kind of like Ianto though. *runs*

Edit: Sorry about all the editing, but I did want to add that I don't mind in the slightest that you hate Ianto, though. It's very entertaining XD
