Waiting up (tag Bruce, timed morning after Jason's attack on store)

The night had been quiet enough, a little too quiet to sleep without Bruce there, even though the other man almost never made a sound or unnecessary move once asleep.

In the morning, Bruce returned to the apartment through the front door, wearing a black jogging suit. To people he passed in the lobby on their way to breakfast or work, it looked as though Bruce had just come in from a healthy early bird jog.

After a short exchange with Alfred, who was in the kitchen preparing a healthy start (or end, as the case may be) to everyone's day, Bruce soundlessly opened the door into bedroom. It wasn't a complete surprise to see Harvey awake, but the implication that the other man had been waiting up for him all night did give him pause.

"Harvey." Bruce closed the door behind him, recognizing the reading material he had in bed with him.

"Morning," Harvey said with a yawn, his voice dragging a little over the word. "How'd it go?"

Beside him, Hugo stirred and blinked up at Bruce, wagging his tail into the bed as though proud of how well he'd kept the lawyer in one spot all night.

Bruce just shook his, indicating that there was nothing significant to report. Stepping closer to the bed, Bruce scratched the dog behind his over-sized ears as a reward. "How long have you been looking over the file."

"Since two or three," Harvey shrugged, re-stacking the papers and closing the folder, passing a hand over it. He set it on the bedside table and stood, stretching, his neck popping loudly enough to make the dog look.

"How was Tim?" he suspected that Bruce actually working with Tim would be good for both of them
