Thanks Bitsy. This is one of my favorite photos. That fence is running along the edge of a steep bluff; the beach is about 30-40 feet below. Staircases lead down a wildflower and vine-covered cliff to the sand. Here at the top is a vast lawn shaded by scores of huge ancient trees, with picnic tables and shelters, hiking trails, and a playground.
This bluff is dramatic anytime...watching huge 700-foot-long freighters pass by miles out on the lake or a regatta with hundreds of colorful sailboats gliding by, watching sunrises and sunsets, following a thunderstorm as it moves across the lake, or in winter when snowstorms roar across from Canada.
