Co-piloting the decks with Ms Kitty for an entire evening of 80s¹ at the Metropole on the Sunday of WGW, we were wondering if the size of the room would dampen the classic Laughton's spirit, but the crowd did us proud and managed to recreate the ambience of Whitby's old sauna club. And I have to say, despite the new venue, it was one of the best 80's nights I've been to at Whitby. It worked superbly well.

And of course, Sheriff Fatman made an appearance :)

Westworld - Sonic Boom Boy

Ah. That's one of those tracks which I've heard at the 80s night, and only ever at the 80s night. I don't actually particularly like it, but it's nice to place it.

(Also, I don't think even at the 80s night Gang of Four into Kajagoogoo is acceptable ;)

I've got the 7" vinyl of Sonic Boom Boy from when it originally came out. I actually rather like it. [grin]

As for Gang of Four into Kajagoogoo, that was mostly because numbers were rather low that early on, so I was playing for the people that were there ...
