It started with a talk with Eric about his views on life and ended with a talk with Ray about religion specifically. After I made that post and got so many ( Read more... )

I mean, if there's no sentient being out there holding us accountable for our lives... ultimately, the only thing that's important is staying true to ourselves and each other.

:D

I think it's always in a state of flux, we're always searching for answers and that's what life should be about, but I know what it's like to have that epiphany and find something that works for you, and it's really an amazing feeling.

Exactly.

I'll go listen to the song now.

"I was actually close to disgusted with the religion."

I went to a catholic school for 12 years, and more I learned, the more I was disgusted. I can't think of any other set of ideals that became so damn backwards over time.

"To thine own self be true."

This reminds me of something amusing my dad said not long after my parents got divorced, "Listen: You can bullshit the entire world, but whatever you do Simon, don't bullshit yourself."

As far as real actual feedback on your philosophy goes, let me just say I'm the most flaming atheist you'll ever meet.

And it sounds good. I can't stand religion, but spirituality I can respect. And if its a force that motivates you, don't ever pass it off as trivial.
