A punch to the face is always a good way to say "shut up, Hannibal". Of course, the fact that he was, in many ways, entirely right about Utena doesn't make him any less deserving of it.

Since Mikage wanted to kill Anthy in order to have Mamiya take her place, I imagine Akio and/or Anthy would have been more than capable of perpetrating that particular deception if they'd felt it necessary.

Also, have a link.

I want a robot monkey catcher. That is all.

Just because you might be right about something, does not give you the right to be a dick about it.

I have no doubt that they could, but its a lot of work, so it better have one heck of a payoff.

...So, Mikage was being a whore in that scene? And Mamiya is his pimp? Given who Mamiya really was, and the true nature of their relationship, that's not so far off!

It's certainly one way to see their relationship. Or it could just be the artists having fun. :)

I love the little visual devices in this episode - especially the way the window frame when Utena and Mikage are talking becomes a gravestone in the flashback.

I think I like my theory, because it takes Mikage down a notch. ;)

Great use of framing devices, and now I'm really beginning to question whether there really was a prince that rescued Utena at all, or if that's just a delusion, just like Mamiya?

Wait, now I'm confused again on Mamiya, because in episode 22, Tokiko asks to go visit Mamiya's grave...so did Anty and Akio trick her into thinking that she had a brother, or...ow, my head!

So...if everything is a metaphor for sex...

what is it actually saying about sex? Bad...good...people build up too many fanciful expectations....?

Well, in at least one case, it's saying that sex does not make one mature. As for whatever other message there is, I'll be more confident once I've finished the series.

I'm sorry. But...

Mikage's experimental tower that he built for Akio reminded me of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories's Castle Oblivion if only for the fact that the two architectures both screw with people's heads and that the two antagonists both have pink hair. And Marluxia likes roses.

I mean. I'm not trying to make a point because I don't really have one, but I had to let it out, I just did.

Hey, don't feel sorry! I'm playing Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep as we speak, so comparisons like this are very welcome! :D
