Where I watch Revolutionary Girl Utena, Episode 23
So, not only was Mamiya dead this entire time, he wasn't even real to begin with! He was really Anthy, screwing with Mikage's head at her brother's request. Also, the Nemuro memorial hall was never really rebuilt, it only existed because of Mikage's "eternal memories". Mikage, for all his scheming and manipulation, was himself clinging to false memories and as such was manipulated himself.
Really, while it is amusing that Mikage was trying to kill the Rose Bride in order to save the Rose Bride...I'm not entirely clear on just what Akio was hoping to accomplish with all this roundabout manipulation and deception. I imagine it will become much clearer as we begin to take our rides in Akio's car, which, like everything else on this show, is a metaphor for sex.
Oh, and Utena was really awesome, what with punching Mikage in the face and taking some initiative in the duel, and the Shadow Play girls were in top form, didn't take me any time to figure out what they were going on about.
