A/N: A taste from my original world. This is the one I'll be mostly writing in for mini_nanowrimo. This was written as a test. Original work here, please don't steal.

The bullet shattered the stained glass window, turning the world into a kaleidoscope. The man looked at it with an odd sense of curiosity before it hit it's mark and burst his head open in a squishy explosion.

The woman on the rooftop half a mile away let out the breath she had been holding as she released the trigger of her rifle. Mission accomplished. She smoothly sat up on her knees and started to disassemble her weapon, touching hidden latches and turning gleaming tiny bolts she soon had the brass and wood parts neatly arranged in the leather briefcase. Snapping it shut and making sure the false bottom was secured she got to her feet and walked in a brisk pace towards the edge on the other side of the roof.

After a quick look to confirm that the alley was empty she slid her hands into the handles on the inside of her coat and stepped off the roof. As the fabric responded to her command and billowed out to catch the air she focused on keeping herself level despite the uneven weight of the briefcase in her hand.

She touched down softly on the cobblestones darkened by the faint morning mist. In the distance shouts and calls reverberated off the walls and she couldn't suppress a faint smile as she turned and walked in the other direction. She did so enjoy a job well done.
